Steelers insider Mark Kaboly from The Athletic joined the show. Mark talked about how pointless rookie minicamp is and told his favorite Chris Rainey story. Mark said there isn’t much there in terms of undrafted rookies that could make an impact this season. He said the only impressive looking players were the ones the Steelers actually drafted. Chris asked if there has been another recent year where it feels like the draft class will have a more immediate impact than this one. Mark commented on Dan Moore moving to the right side or playing guard this season to make way for Broderick Jones. Mark gave his thoughts on the schedule release and the best/worst parts of it. He described this season as the “last chance” for Matt Canada and said there aren’t any excuses left. He thinks Kenny Pickett is on the cusp of being a good QB. Mark has the Steelers finishing 8-9.
Poni thinks Darnell Washington is the steal of the draft, but he is concerned by his lack of production at Georgia. Is it fair to criticize Joey Porter Jr. for his lack of takeaways, but not criticize Washington for his lack of catches, yards and touchdowns in college?
