Should the Steelers have any thought about drafting another QB if they have a top 5 pick in the draft? Ryan Clark suggested it and there are definitely Steeler fans out there that believe it, for one reason or another. Obviously, we didn’t love the idea. Plus, it’s the Pittsburgh Steelers – it ain’t gonna happen.
Mike Florio from Pro Football Talk joined the show. Mike said he wouldn’t rule anything out and the Steelers could draft a QB in the 1st round in April, but he deems it very unlikely. He said the bye week is a huge time for Kenny Pickett to regroup after his first 4 games didn’t go so well. He thinks it’s fair to consider if he keeps playing the same way and the team keeps losing. Mike was surprised the Steelers finally made the Chase Claypool trade after he predicted it during the off-season. He brought up the diva article that was released by the Steelers after Claypool’s rookie year. He said the Steelers will be just fine replacing Claypool because they are still one of the best teams in the league drafting the position. Mike was curious about the articles labeling Claypool as a distraction and wondered how serious the Packers were in trade talks.
