Chace Claypool has arrived in Chicago and took a subtle shot at the Steelers offensive scheme. Mike Tomlin has decided he will continue his loyalty to Matt Canada. Maurkice Pouncey also had something to say about the Steelers current offense.

Poni compared the Chase Claypool trade to times when the Pirates send a good player to a contender, but Josh isn’t sold that the Bears will make him flourish. Aditi joined Poni and talked about what is going on with Steelers’ practices. They agreed that Ben Roethlisberger may have a lingering impact because he didn’t always take practice seriously. Aditi wondered about the personality of some position groups in the Steelers locker room because they have a lot of very young players. She isn’t sure what player it could be on the offensive side. She described the Chase Claypool trade as a “stroke of genius” and how they got a 2nd round pick for a guy who didn’t really want to be here. She hopes this opens more things up for George Pickens after he had just 3 targets in Sunday’s loss. She said Mike Tomlin is at risk of losing players for the first time because there are so many of them questioning the offense and coaching.

Poni asked Aditi about what went behind the Chase Claypool trade and whose decision it ultimately was to send him to Chicago. She said it wasn’t a total volunteer-hostage situation that Mike Tomlin loves talking about.

Does Aditi buy into what Ryan Clark said earlier today – that the Steelers would be in the market for a QB in next year’s draft and should already give up on Kenny Pickett? She said everything with the offense is way too sloppy to put all of the blame on Kenny. She referenced Geno Smith, who is having a career renaissance.

Mike was surprised the Steelers finally made the Chase Claypool trade after he predicted it during the off-season. He brought up the diva article that was released by the Steelers after Claypool’s rookie year. He said the Steelers will be just fine replacing Claypool because they are still one of the best teams in the league drafting the position. Mike was curious about the articles labeling Claypool as a distraction and wondered how serious the Packers were in trade talks.
