Dolphins color commentator Joe Rose from WQAM joined the show. Joe was a former Dolphin and friend of Dan Marino. Joe quickly highlighted Jaylen Waddle and Tyreek Hill as electric playmakers. Joe said the handling of the Tua Tagovailoa situation is like something he hasn’t seen before because of the scary nature of his concussion a few weeks ago. Joe gave a shout out to Alex Highsmith who has filled the shoes of TJ Watt by leading the league in sacks at the moment. Joe said he is a huge fan of Brian Flores and he can be a real difference maker as a coach with the Steelers defense. He said nobody will know the Dolphins more than Flores, especially the defense, even after his departure, because he knows the players and their abilities. Joe had high praise for Kenny Pickett and thinks he’ll be a really good pro, but it takes time. Joe talked about how the Dolphins made the move to Marino as a rookie in 1983 and how he stood out as a first-year player. Poni asked Joe about Melvin Ingram and how good he’s been in Miami so far, but mentioned that the defense has to take the ball away more.

With Damontae Kazee being activated, Josh talked about what he could add to this defense, including a 3-safety look. Who are the starting corners in Miami? Josh said Ahkello Witherspoon and Cam Sutton. He expects the full secondary to be back.
