The Pod People

We are back! It's been a while, how is everyone doing? In this episode, we watched In Bruges, starring a couple of notable actors including Colin Farrell, Brendan Gleeson (Harry Potter, Mad Eye Moody), Ralph Fiennes (Harry Potter, Lord Voldemort). As is stated in the title of the movie, this story takes place in the city of Bruges, Belgium which is a city known for its well-preserved medieval architecture and canals, and has been called "Venice of the North". Colin Farrell and Brendan Gleeson are both hitmen, after a job goes wrong they are sent to Belgium to lay low. As they spend time together in Bruges eventually things catch up to them and they are forced to confront their actions. Though dark, we found this movie to be quite charming despite the bleak situation the characters find themselves in. We would definitely recommend this not only for the entertainment, but also for the historical aspect as the movie goes into the history of the city of Bruges and some notable landmarks.

We actually recorded this episode back in 2024 so some of our references are a little dated. A lot of changes have happened in our lives but we are happy to still be doing this, also check out our show Body Snatched which we are more active on!

In this first episode of 2024, we watched the Maltese Falcon, starring Humphrey Bogart and Peter Lorre, known later for the roles they played in 1942's Casablanca. This is a crime noir movie about different interested parties seeking to recover the lost Maltese Falcon. Plenty of chills, thrill, and murder.

In this episode, we watched Arachnophobia, if you weren't afraid of spiders, you will be now. In this 1990 film, we see Jeff Daniel's character Dr. Ross Jennings fighting an army of spiders in order to reclaim his farm. We also get an appearance from John Goodman as the exterminator. Even Tomás who is scared of spiders gave this one a thumbs up, hope you enjoy listening.

In this episode we watched The Untouchables, a classic gangster movie featuring quite a notable list of names associated with it, both on and offscreen. From Robert De Niro as Al Capone to Ennio Morricone who wrote the very compelling score for this movie. This movie follows Al Capone in the time of Prohibition as he is running his empire, he is being pursued by Treasury Agent Elliot Ness (Kevin Costner) who is accompanied by Officer Jim Malone (Sean Connery) and George Stone (Andy Garcia). We see how Al Capone is brought down by "The Untouchables" in an effort to enforce Prohibition laws. There are many other surprises and recognizable faces not mentioned here so this movie is definitely worth a watch if you have not seen this movie before.
