The Pod People

Lars and the Real Girl is a touching film about the difficult emotion of love. In the film we see how love affects all of the relationships in Lars' life even if he doesn't realize it. This movie is a little off the beaten path but it's endearing and just makes you feel good. Bonus you get Ryan Gosling which is always a treat. This is one you will certainly enjoy checking out.

In this episode, the Pod People watched Bloodsport, a martial arts movie featuring Jean-Claude Van Damme who plays Frank Dux, there are also some other familiar faces. We were pleasantly surprised and entertained throughout the entire movie, this will certainly be a source of references we make in future episodes, especially Ray Jackson who we all support.

This year for The Pod People Halloween Special we bring you The Thing from Another World (1951)! In this film we see a military operation in the north pole. Something has hit the ice and they are determined to figure out what it is. The film has conflict with not just what may be in the ice but in the differing philosophies between the military and scientists. The film is a lot of fun and we recorded two versions of the episode. This version is the review version in which we discuss what happens in the film. The other version is a watch along that you can have on in the background as you yourself watch the movie! We had an absolute blast doing our Halloween special and our five weeks of horror for Halloween! We hope it has been fun for you guys and we hope you have a happy Halloween!

Grosse Pointe Blank is about a hitman, Martin Blank, reluctantly going to his high school reunion. It has been ten years since he has returned home and he is reluctant to go but fate (and a contract he has to take) forces him to face his past. This film stars John Cusack, Dan Akyroyd, Minnie Driver, and Alan Arkin, what else do you need? This is The Pod People reunion special! It has been ten years ourselves since we graduated and we thought it would be fun to do a review of a great movie and to take a look back at the times we shared with each other. We hope this is a real fun one to listen to because we had a great time recording it!

Watch along with us in this bonus episode as we watch the movie adaptation of Josie and the Pussycats from 2001.

In this episode we watched Behind the Mask: The Rise of Leslie Vernon. In the film we join a camera crew as they follow upstart mass murderer Leslie Vernon preparing for his first slaughter. As the gravity of what they are doing begins to weigh on the crew it becomes apparent that it is too late to get out and now they are also on the chopping block. This is a wild film and takes a well covered genre in a new and exciting direction. If you want a great hidden gem of a horror movie look no further.
