We see the straw that absolutely decimated whatever was left of Molly's mental health camel, and see a much more interesting big action set piece that takes place inside the Grasshopper's squiggly grey stuff!
Butters picks up some nightmare fuel and one for the snapshot, so its probably a wash; Murphy may as well be b ack in Hawaii this week, but Uriel does a cool omniscience expo dumb. But the reveal we all came for doesnt disappoint! Harry learns who really killed him: the dude nad-dogging him from across the bathroom sink!

Its all action no heart, but its still Dresden, and still solid, if not quite reaching the usual spectacular highs.

Wherein Harry can only watch the B-plot mini-boss fight!
Luckily he has Forthill to rush in unprepared because someone he just met is in danger and the right thing to do, Daniel to soak up the punishment because Butcher is a monster who thrives on our suffering, Butters to swing the big hammer, and Fitz to learn the lesson, grow as a person, and make he dark world a little bit brighter for everyone around him....its a very passable "Wizard of Chicago" cosplay!!
There's a powerful if strange moment shared by our wizard and his broken apprentices, Bob gets to peacock, and we meet a really cool new character type---and Harry immediately tries to fight it!!

Wherein Harry reconsiders his past.
Runaway Teen Harry tries to deal with the bad guy Walking Behind him, Ghost Adult Harry finishes his deal with Lea, and along with Fitz, Bob, and Butters, we have a team-up moment to save a good Padre.
We consider whether Toomgis (pictured in post below) is an outsider, whether Mister is the White God, and contemplate the relationships between Lea/Harry and Bob/Harry.

Bodies are piling up and all the decomposing fingers point to Molly, Harry gets three more missions added to his plate: creepy statue, creepy kids, and creepy Fagin analogue-- minus the Dickensian anti-Semitism, at least! Finally we learn that our gentlemanly Baron is doing good deeds, if for less than good reasons.

Our wizard has ceased to be, but that doesn't mean his suffering has to! Murph's dad and former partner introduce our boy to Between and try to work through a clerical error preventing him from moving on. Because of that, it's back to Chicago; Mortimer Lindquist and his helpful guardian shade Sir Stuart will have to handhold Harry as he navigates the afterlife.

Soon to be Ms. Murphy takes center stage in lieu of our erstwhile wizard, standing in as emotionally troubled narrator and heroic monster vanquisher both.
Georgia is missing and Harry's body is somewhere in Lake Michigan, sporting a brand new, high caliber bullet shaped hole, so Karrin and Billy need to put on the boots and T.C.O.B.....but the new kids on the block are quite unpleasant!
