Identifying your audience one of the key foundations for your podcast. Whether you already have a show or you're launching a new one, you need to know who is your audience. You may have taken some free podcasting courses or did some Googling and many people say you need to shape your ideas and find your ideal listener. True, I am no different. But what does that really mean? Why does finding your audience matter to your podcast? Without knowing who you are talking to, you also may not find your voice as easily.

Think about your voice. Why do you sound the way you do? Why do you speak the way you do? The words you choose, the pitches you make, although comes naturally to you now, it all had to start somewhere.

 

As kids, we emulate the adults around us, the community that we live in, and the culture that is ingrained in our bones. Media plays a big role too. The voice you currently have probably isn't your true voice. Or it's not your true voice when you get behind the mic.
