Here’s the format of the show:

The Best Thing I Saw on TV Last Month – Alex, Bill, and Josh talk about a show/episode/event they liked from the last month including HBO’s Succession & Barry, Showtime’s Yellowjackets, AppleTV Plus’s Ted Lasso, FreeVee’s Jury Duty, CW’s The Flash, and Disney Plus’s The Mandalorian & Kiff.

Streaming Wars – Alex, Bill, and Josh pick a streamer they think “won the month” based on new shows airing/upcoming shows announced etc. Bill was impressed by Max’s relatively painless launch, their buzzy series finales, and the news Kim Cattrall would be returning to And Just Like That later this month. Josh returns to talk up the star power of AppleTV Plus’s recent new series including Silo, Platonic, High Desert, The Crowded Room, and Hijack, while also noting Ted Lasso’s maybe series finale. Finally, Alex gives it to Netflix again, this time thanks to its highly rated films A Man Called Otto and Mother, its buzzy new TV releases including FUBUR, I Think You Should Leave, The Ultimatum: Queer Love, and Hannah Gadsby: Something Special, and the fact that David Zaslav and not Netflix has become the WGA strike’s greatest villain, against all odds.

New Series Spotlight – Alex, Bill, and Josh review American Born Chinese, Disney Plus’s adaptation of the 2006 Gene Luen Yang Graphic Novel of the same name. The series was created by actor and writer Kelvin You, and executive produced by Shang Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings’s Destin Daniel Cretton, who also directs the premiere and finale of the first season.

It stars Ben Wang as 10th Grader Jin Wang and Jimmy Liu as Wei-Chen, the son of the legendary Monkey King who has rebelled against his father by stealing his father’s staff and posing as a human while he embarks on a mystical quest. Academy Award winner Michelle Yeoh, Academy Award winner Ke Huy Quan, and Daniel Wu costar.

  • Batman By The Numbers: Best Batman Actors Ranked

There’s arguably no superhero in existence that has been reimagined, redefined, or reinterpreted more than Batman.  No matter how many times he’s been rebooted, audiences are always willing to come back to Gotham City’s greatest defender.  With so much Bat content out there, there’s plenty to dissect, analyze, and of course, rank!  This podcast is dedicated to a surgical evaluation of Batman’s history, with a focus on ranking several topics in the world of Batman, among other classic Bat themes and characters.

Join host Daniel Cohen, Pop Break’s former Film Editor and Resident Bat-Maven, as he brings on several guests every month to share his passion for the one and only Dark Knight.  From Adam West to Robert Pattinson, no bat stone will be left unturned.  Bottom-line: If you’re a Batman fan, this is required listening.

There is no topic that personifies the title “Batman by the Numbers” more than this rankings episode – the Batman actors.  Yes.  We are ranking all the actors who have donned the cape and cowl.  In what is our biggest rankings discussion since the Batman movies back in our pilot episode, we decided to free up some space in the podcasting cave for some back up.

Daniel is joined by not only Batman by the Numbers regulars Alex Marcus and Bill Bodkin, but by fellow bat fanatics Allie Nelson and Tyler McCarthy of the Not Couples Podcast, and Pop Break newcomer, Josh Edmunds.  The cave will be full of lively and fun debate as these panel members duke it over Michael Keaton, Ben Affleck, Will Arnett, and all the rest in this jam-packed episode.

With nine Batman actors to rank, you can bet your bat credit card everyone has their hot-takes fueled up in the Tumbler ready to go.  With five other panelists, will Daniel finally find an ally on Affleck’s Bat performance, or continue to face mock and ridicule for his love of BvS? (probably the latter).  How do the comedic versions of the character (West and Arnett) fare into these rankings?  Does Robert Pattinson make a run at the top only one Bat movie in?  And of course, who will finish #1???

For anyone who loves Batman as much as these six panelists do, and has debated many times with their friends on who the best Batman is, this is a MUST listen to episode. Period.

Cardcaptor Sakura is a fantasy anime based on the manga by Clamp. It premiered in Japan on April 7, 1998. Running for 70 episodes, the series ended on March 21, 2000. One of two English localizations, entitled Cardcaptors, ran on Kids’ WB and Toonami in the earlier 2000s.

Aiding Sakura are her friends Syaoran (Mokoto Kumai) and Tomoyo (Junko Iwao), as well as the Clow Card guardians Kero (Aya Hisakawa, Masaya Onosaka) and Yue (Megumi Ogata).

Cardcaptor Sakura received two movies as well as a sequel, Cardcaptor Sakura: Clear Card, which is based on the manga of the same name.

Aaron and Josh discuss their exposure to the Kids’ WB dub before going into their thoughts on the series proper, covering the plot, characters, and animation.

Hello and welcome to Bill vs the MCU! Each month your hosts Pop Break Podcasts Editor Alex Marcus and Pop Break Editor in Chief Bill Bodkin take another step into the wider Marvel Multiverse, with reviews and interviews on the film and television series that may be drawn upon as the MCU dives deeper and deeper into its Multiverse Saga.

After completing their twelve month rewatch of the Marvel Cinematic Universe, Alex and Bill are fully embracing the ethos of the MCU’s Multiverse Saga with miniseries devoted to all the MCU-adjacent material out there. Currently, the pair are taking a guided tour of the Netflix Defenders-verse, featuring reviews of select seasons of Daredevil, Jessica Jones, and Luke Cage, along with this universe’s crossover event The Defenders.

This month, it’s time for the final installment of Bill & Alex’s coverage of The Defenders Saga as they travel back to August of 2017 to see how the first phase of this entire Defenders experiment came together with the eight part miniseries: The Defenders.

He is currently the host of the film podcast Underrated, where he and his co-hosts discuss underrated films, but he also is the host of an MCU-review podcast called Infinity Stones and Dragon Bones, where he has been keeping up with new installments of Marvel TV and Film since 2018. We’ll get into his experience covering both sides of Marvel and why he chose to invoke the big McGuffin of The Defenders in his show's title.

            • Batman By The Numbers: Review - Batman: Doom that Came to Gotham

There’s arguably no superhero in existence that has been reimagined, redefined, or reinterpreted more than Batman.  No matter how many times he’s been rebooted, audiences are always willing to come back to Gotham City’s greatest defender.  With so much Bat content out there, there’s plenty to dissect, analyze, and of course, rank!  This podcast is dedicated to a surgical evaluation of Batman’s history, with a focus on ranking several topics in the world of Batman, among other classic Bat themes and characters.

Batman fighting demons, spirits, sorcery, and monsters?  Oh my!  It happened.  The Batman by the Numbers Podcast goes into uncharted waters this month.  While Batman movies are typically relegated to grounded, gritty crime dramas, there are comics where Batman ventures into the supernatural, and even horror.  As a great man once said, “You want to get nuts!  Let’s get nuts!”  That’s what Batman: The Doom that Came to Gotham is, the new animated movie from DC.Daniel calls upon the spirit world to summon Podcast Editor Alex Marcus and Pop Break contributor Tom Moore, making his Batman by the Numbers debut, to help him decipher this very odd, weird Batman movie adapted from the Elseworlds comic of the same name that takes place in the 1920s.

They debate whether or not the premise holds strong, how well classic Batman villains are interwoven into the story, discuss the viability of the Batman character being placed in the horror genre, and stack it up to other DC animated movies.

If you’re interested in a Batman story that takes place in the 1920s with a diversion to Antarctica with Batman fighting demons from another world, then this is the Batman movie you’ve been waiting for!
