Cancer can refer to a broad spectrum of diseases.... but the word itself carries so much weight and fear that some doctors say we should ditch the term altogether. They say the label "cancer" can trigger panic and lead to unnecessary treatments, especially for low-risk cases.

But one physician argues we don't need a new word, instead we need to rethink what cancer means… and how we respond to it.
