In this episode of The Pretty Little Lifters Podcast, we’re kicking off this season with a question I’ve gotten from people when they’re trying to figure out if they should workout at home or go to a gym.

We’re also going to go over the pros and cons of working out at home, an open gym style location (with free weights and machines), or a class based gym.

                  • 3.12- New Year's Pressure from the Fitness Industry: 10 Red Flags to Lookout For

In today’s episode, we’re going to talk about new year’s pressure from the fitness industry. New Year’s and summer are the fitness industries bread and butter! This is the time of year where you will see a lot of marketing to get you to join a gym, buy a workout program, book a 1 on 1 trainer, subscribe to a training app, and more.

Many new people flood the gyms in January because they see the new year as a fresh start and want to make health resolutions. (Btw listen to season 1, episode 1 to learn about why I like choosing a word of the year instead of making resolutions). Remember, you can start creating new health habits ANYTIME…you don’t have to wait for January. Keep your fitness goals and routines realistic and start small and make CONSISTENCY your goal.

But how do you cut through the marketing fluff and find the right supportive place, program, or coach for you? That’s what I’m here for!

If you are trying to shift away from overly aesthetic goals and diet culture pressure…I share 10 red flags to lookout for in this episode!
