  • Chick Yuill: Reaching the masses with the good news of Jesus

The pastor, preacher, writer and broadcaster speaks to Premier’s Andy Peck about his humble start in a Scottish mining town, and pastoring a number of churches with the Salvation Army. This included a spell in California and an appearance on ITV’s Jeremy Kyle Show to give a Christian angle in the heat of a debate about the ethics of same-sex relations. He says: “in the middle, was me trying to explain to the studio audience and the ITV audience that Christianity and total insanity, we're not related terms!”

His heart to reach the many who aren’t aware of the Gospel led to his writing novels for the mass market and his lifelong enthusiasm for radio is behind his delight at presenting on Premier Christian Radio’s on Friday mornings. At 74 years of age, he’s still exercising daily and has the enthusiasm of a 20 year-old.

  • Steph Macleod: The Scottish worship leader on overcoming addiction and homelessness
In this in-depth interview, the Scottish singer-songwriter and worship leader Steph Macleod speaks to Premier Christianity's Sam Hailes about overcoming drug and alcohol dependency. Steph was homeless when he found Christ, but that decision to surrender everything to Jesus marked an important turning point in his life story. That's not to say the singer gives the impression that his life is all rosy. Far from it. Steph says he's still "in recovery", and when asked how Covid-19 has affected him, he replies "It's been a really tough year." Others have called him open and honest, but Steph says he needs to be real in order to survive. Alongside writing worship songs, he's also a mental health advocate. In opening up about his struggles, Steph says he's always mindful of the support of his friends, family and church community in helping him stay sober. The pair also discuss Steph's new single, 'No Other God', which is out now, and discuss how the digital world is allowing the singer - along with the wider Celtic Worship community - to reach audiences all over the world.

  • Eddie Arthur: The Bible translator reflects on world mission and Covid-19
He may have a science student (studying one enzyme in the broad bean plant), but even as a relatively young Christian, Eddie Arthur always sensed that God wanted him to be a missionary in a French-speaking nation. He'd assumed that meant somewhere in Europe. But it turned out God had something very different in mind. In this in-depth interview, Eddie explains how God called him and his wife to Ivory Coast in order to translate the New Testament into the Kouya language (something which had never been undertaken before). In opening up about the 12 year adventure with Premier Christianity's Sam Hailes, Eddie also reflects on world missions, the impact of Covid-19, and why the significant decisions he took during his tenure as CEO of Wycliffe Bible Translators were so controversial in some quarters.
