It’s Batman week! Finally, after nearly two years of anticipation since the release of the trailer at the first ever DC Fandome, “The Batman” is imminent. We spend this episode talking about the hype for Matt Reeve’s crack at directing Batman starring Robert Pattinson as the caped crusader alongside a star-studded cast. We talk about the other iterations of Batman before Pattinson and what insight those performances can give us to what to expect from him. Before that though, we give our thoughts on yet MORE Oppenheimer casting, where the Marvel Netflix shows are landing post-Netflix, some more Kraven casting and some thoughts on the final (we think) Morbius trailer. Usually what I do in these little blurbs is I like to talk about our main topic and quickly touch upon all the other stuff we talk about. This week, that just isn’t possible! This week, it’s the culmination of the two other movies before it, and then the culmination of the fan outcry after THAT movie wasn’t so positively received. It’s the movie we all wanted to see on screen, until we saw it on screen. “Tell me. Do you bleed?” The hype behind 2016’s “Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice” was unlike anything we’d seen to that point in movies. Finally, Batman and Superman would meet on the silver screen! Henry Cavill returned in what was a quasi-sequel to Man of Steel. Did this movie live up to the absurd hype? Well, no. We discuss the film in great detail in what might be the best episode of the podcast to date. Before that, we take care of some news and housekeeping including the Mortal Kombat sequel, news regarding ongoing and future James Gunn projects, some concept art from No Way Home depicting the return of a familiar face and Boba Fett possibly losing his show to The Mandalorian.
