This week, it’s the culmination of the two other movies before it, and then the culmination of the fan outcry after THAT movie wasn’t so positively received. This week is all about Zack Snyder’s Justice League. We will of course discuss the 2017 version and the scummy hands of Joss Whedon before talking about Zack Snyder’s TRUE vision. Before that though, we talk some casting for Madame Web, Fast & Furious, and of course, Oppenheimer. It’s the movie we all wanted to see on screen, until we saw it on screen. “Tell me. Do you bleed?” The hype behind 2016’s “Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice” was unlike anything we’d seen to that point in movies. Finally, Batman and Superman would meet on the silver screen! Henry Cavill returned in what was a quasi-sequel to Man of Steel. Did this movie live up to the absurd hype? Well, no. We discuss the film in great detail in what might be the best episode of the podcast to date. Before that, we take care of some news and housekeeping including the Mortal Kombat sequel, news regarding ongoing and future James Gunn projects, some concept art from No Way Home depicting the return of a familiar face and Boba Fett possibly losing his show to The Mandalorian. “You will give the people of Earth an ideal to strive towards.” In the spirit of Jor-El, that’s exactly what we aim to do here at The Project Infinite Podcast: give the listeners of podcasts an ideal to strive towards. This week, we embark on a three week odyssey dissecting the Zack Snyder trilogy of DCEU films. Every journey starts somewhere, so we start this one with 2013’s “Man of Steel,” a movie heralded by many (Courtney) as the greatest superhero movie of all time. We talk about what worked, what didn’t, what’s great, what’s confusing and why did we not get a Man of Steel 2? We discuss Henry Cavill’s legacy as the Man of Tomorrow and the message the movie tries to convey. Before that, we talk about the Moon Knight trailer, The Rock returning to the video game movie genre, the new Star Wars video game slate, the return of a Young Adult fantasy franchise on Disney+ and some casting for “Ahsoka.” Spoilers ahead for Man of Steel if you haven’t seen it and thank you as always to everyone who supports us. It’s Star Wars season folks! For the first time in 20+ episodes, we are dedicating a main topic to Star Wars. With the Skywalker Saga in the rearview, we decided to look ahead to 2022 and beyond and dissect the state of play for arguably the most popular franchise in movie history. We forecast future movies, shows and games as it pertains to the Star Wars universe connecting with a small recap of the previous three films that left fans divided to say the least. We are in the endgame now. The time is almost upon us and Spider-Man: No Way Home is mere days (or day if you’re listening to this the day it releases) and we have you covered for a preview, as if we haven’t done that enough. At some point, we have to ask ourselves: “Is Andrew Garfield the best Spider-Man?” We will attempt to answer this question in Episode 20 of The Project Infinite Podcast as we continue our month of Spider-Man content with film retrospectives of “The Amazing Spider-Man” and “The Amazing Spider-Man 2.” We break down the fabulous portrayals of Peter Parker and Gwen Stacey by Andrew Garfield and Emma Stone. We talk story beats that did (and mostly didn’t work) and a few underrated villain performances. We make the case that those movies are not as bad as you remember and Andrew Garfield is even better than you remember.
