Once again in the NFL the seed number by your team's win loss record & name means absolutely nothing in the playoffs. And even though the Baltimore Ravens where chosen by many (me included) to get revenge against the 4th seeded Tennessee Titans on yesterday, it didn't start out easy for the 5th seeded Ravens. What was apparent was this, when ever Baltimore plays Tennessee is Nashville the Ravens win, postseason or not. Whenever Tennessee plays Baltimore in Baltimore, the Titans always win, postseason or not. And that's really all I've got to say concerning this WILDCARD game. Lamar Jackson gets his 1st postseason win as well in his 3rd tournament appearance. Congratulations "Action" Jackson!

As expected the 4th seeded Washington Football Team was unable to overcome the greatness of Tom Brady and the 5th seeded Buccaneers. You can even argue the point that the Buccaneers should be the 4th seed, leaving Washington with the 5th, 6th, or 7th seed. It's an arguably point but now mute as the 2020 NFC East Champs will sit home for the remaining rounds of this tournament and figure out how to move forward. We know Washington's defense is legit but they can improve there as well. The obvious hole is franchise quarterback. Veteran Alex Smith may retire, Dwayne Haskins Jr. was released before 2021 leaving him amd the franchise Q.B. label in 2020. And with all that said Taylor Heinickie making a case for that said franchise quarterback title. But did he do enough in the loss to make his case?

The 6th seeded Los Angeles Rams went right into the 2020 NFC West champs house on Saturday afternoon and won big. Defeating the 2nd seed Seahawks 30-20. There's one thing to remember always about the NFL, whether it's a postseason game or a regular season game. The 1 thing that holds the truth is defense and a rushing attack travels. If you have these 2 attributes on your team you'll have a huge impact and possibly find yourself on the field Super Bowl Sunday. I predicted the Seahawks would be the team going on the road next weekend in the Divisional Round. Not the Rams, the Rams totaled a 164 yards on the ground. And went in with the number 1 defense in points allowed per game in the NFL.

As the AFC's 7th seed today the Indianapolis Colts lost to the the AFC's 2nd seed in Buffalo, Orchard Park New York. Final score Buf. 27 Ind. 24, Philip Rivers did all he could to win earlier today against the Buffalo Bills. But the NOW 14-3 BILLS proved to be way too much for the Indianapolis Colts. The Colts fall to 11-6 & Buffalo will host a postseason game next Saturday at home in the NFL's Divisional Playoff Round. The 6th seeded Cleveland Browns are back in Pittsburgh who's the AFC North division champs with the 3rd seed. Cleveland defeated a Steelers team in week 17 24-22 that saw many of the Steelers starters sit out in preparation of this wild card game against 1 of their hated rivals. The AFC North has 3 teams in this year's tournament. Baltimore 11-5 like the Browns and the the Steelers are 12-4. Browns head coach Kevin Stefanski tested positive for covid-19 and will be at home while his team is in Pittsburgh this Sunday night. Either way the Browns had a great season with an even bigger future ahead.

With the New Orleans Mercedes Benz Superdome being a current haunted facility for the 2nd seed Saints in recent playoff history against NFC North teams. Can they break a unnoticed curse? The 8th seed Chicago Bears are 2-0 vs. the Saints in the postseason as well. Those games where in 1991 and 2007 as well as played on Sunday's in January. The Packers defeated the Saints in the regular season in primetime in their house. The Vikings defeated the Saints last January in their house. Chicago, Green Bay and Minnesota are all NFC North teams.

The 5th seed Ravens are in Nashville Tennessee this Sunday to face the 4th seed AFC South champion Titans. Baltimore has won 5 games in a row on they're way to the 2021 tournament. The Titans have won 3 of their last 5 games to obtain the number 4 seed and the division title. Problem is whenever the Titans play the Ravens in their home stadium the Titans normally lose and vise versa. Can the Titans 4th ranked offense in points scored per game topple the Ravens 2nd ranked defense in points allowed per game?

Tom Brady will begin his pursuit of his 7th Super Bowl ring. Alex Smith will start at quarterback for the Washington Football Team, so will 4 year veteran Taylor Heinickie. As reported by the mainstream media and Washington head coach. Both of the named quarterbacks will get playing time against the Buccs defense. Will Washington upset Tampa Bay or will Brady and his Buccs complete the first phase of NFL history. Being the first NFL team to host the Super Bowl in their home stadium.

The Houston Texans are facing some very murky, dark, uncharted waters this coming offseason in 2021. Houston needs a new head coach and the General Manager that was hired (Nick Caserio) wasn't on the Texans short list either. With that being said Texans super star quarterback Deshaun Watson is not happy with how things went in 2020 and sent a cryptic tweet statement after the new GM was hired. Star defense lineman J.J. Watt is unhappy as well and with no 1st round draft picks for this year as well as 2022 and possibly beyond. The Houston Texans are in an unparalleled crisis situation. One that'll be extremely difficult to repair anytime soon.
