The Q&R Code

We're welcoming some amplified energy this week at the start of the Chinese New Year. According to the Chinese zodiac, it is the year of the fire horse, and the twins explore what that energy means. From clarity to chaos, there's opportunity for growth if we embrace ownership and balance the pressure with rest. Riley is stoked on the Olympics and Quinn is stoked on beatboxing.

This Tuesday, Quinn and Riley do what they do--SPEAK UP for what they believe in. Both big and small topics are valuable, so the twins range from performing their best anime voices to urging their fellow white people to advocate for change within their circles. At The Q&R Code, balance is a core tenant; the twins' emotions range from excitement to frustration and nostalgia to unease. Thanks for listening!

It was the best of times, it was the worst of times. While the twins feel such gratitude for much of life, there are also innumerable tragedies. While immigrants and citizens alike are at risk in our country today, Quinn and Riley consider the importance of connection and integrity. The Q&R Code will always celebrate diversity and try to uplift one another. Also discussed: Quinn putting herself through horse school and a new season of the Traitors (is it time for twins on the show? Put in a good word for us to Mr. Alan Cumming).

Do you ever get the feeling you're being watched? By the government, strangers online, or even your neighbor? This week, the twin's talk surveillance, inspired by behaviors spied in Mormon culture. From in-group policing and picking apart the specific details of "transgressions" to lie detector tests, the women of Momtok seem hell bent on finding The Truth, and that desire is reflected in the larger cultural climate in the US today. Episode honorable mentions: sourcing an outfit for a themed costume party and how to eat a tamale.
