  • The Harvest: UFOs, Body Parts and Blood

    🚨 CONTENT WARNING 🚨
This episode contains graphic descriptions of human and animal mutilation drawn from documented police, military, and forensic reports. Listener discretion is strongly advised.

We all know the standard UFO story: lights in the sky, little grey men, missing time. Over the years, we’ve domesticated the alien phenomenon to make it feel safe. But there is a dark, terrifying thread running through UFO history—from the very first cases in the 1940s right through to declassified military files—that is anything but safe.

This week on The Quantum Mechanics, we are following a trail of blood. We explore the deeply unsettling, thoroughly documented cases of craft and entities that don't just observe humanity—they harvest from us.

From the remote islands of Brazil to the graveyards of Texas, we examine official police reports, FBI documents, and forensic autopsies that connect unidentified craft, biological extraction, and human mutilation. What if the lights in the sky are looking for genetic material? And what happens to the people who find out the truth?

  • Ted Owens: ET's PK Man

Ted Owens, AKA the PK Man, is one of the most controversial figures in psi research. In this episode we dive into his claim‑driven career of precognition and psychokinesis, exploring how he said he could foretell and even trigger natural disasters, weather events, and UFO sightings—all under the guidance of extraterrestrial intelligences.

  • He's Known as The Tooth Fairy

This week, we’re unpacking a case that firmly refuses to sit in any of the usual paranormal boxes. It’s not a standard haunting, it doesn't quite fit the extraterrestrial abduction mould, and it's certainly not your garden-variety cryptid. We are looking at the deeply unsettling testimony of Dan Mitchell, a man who has spent the last forty years being quietly pursued by an impossible entity he calls 'The Harlequin' - but calls itself 'The Toothfairy'.

Starting in a working-class Milwaukee bedroom in 1981 and culminating on a freezing Wisconsin park bench three decades later, this is a story of missing time, weaponised anomalies, and generational stalking. It features crude disguises, implanted ‘screen memories’, and an entity that moves with the jerky, asynchronous grace of cheap animation.

But perhaps the most disturbing element of Dan’s story isn't that this creature is monstrous, but that it seems to genuinely want a relationship.

We delve into the historical Trickster archetypes—from the Commedia dell'arte to the Erl-King of Germanic folklore—to try and make sense of a phenomenon that operates entirely outside of human logic.

Put the kettle on, keep the lights up, and let’s get into it.

  • Proof of Real Magic

In this episode, we dive into Dean Radin’s book on Real Magic and a bold claim — that some magic isn’t fantasy, it’s a testable piece of reality. We break down Radin’s threefold view of real magic (force of will, divination, theurgy), explore why scientists shy away from psi, and tease the social and historical forces that suppressed these ideas.

  • Inflated Visitors

Move over, little green men and sleek grey aliens. What if the strangest visitors to our planet looked much more...like a tyre mascot? In this episode, we dive deep into one of the most bizarre and overlooked sub-genres of UFO history: the "Bibendum" encounters. Spanning from the early 1950s to the late 1970s, across four continents, dozens of unconnected witnesses reported encounters with bulbous, segmented humanoid beings made of stacked rings.

From paralysed French farmers and a hovering transparent disk in 1950, to a radioactive landing site on the remote Réunion Island in 1968, we explore why so many people—often with no connection to France or the Michelin brand—described the exact same impossible thing.

Are these beings wearing highly advanced pressure suits? Is this a case of cultural contamination, or the psychic projection of a parallel reality? Join us as we explore a mystery that proves the truth is far stranger than anyone can reasonably imagine.

  • As Cold As The Dead

Sudden temperature drops known as 'cold spots' have been reported at many haunted locations, including Borley Rectory and The Stanley Hotel (aka The Shining hotel). We look at paranormal investigations that have tried to approach the phenomena with a more scientific eye.

  • Alien Ark of the Covenant

In this episode the Ark of the Covenant is revisited through a science-and-speculation lens. Drawing on the work of David Medina and other alternative researchers, the show explores the idea that the Ark’s famously detailed construction notes may describe more than a ceremonial chest—raising questions about electricity, radiation, and why ancient rituals often resemble modern safety procedures.

The episode connects familiar biblical set pieces (Sinai, the wilderness years, Jericho, and the Ark’s disappearance) to a larger theory: that the Ark functioned as part of a broader technological system—capable of powering equipment, producing dramatic physical effects, and posing serious risks when mishandled. The discussion also follows the Ark’s trail into later legends, including claims of an Ethiopian custody tradition and the long-running fascination it holds for secret-order mythology.

  • Record of a Haunted House 1882-1889

We dive into one of the earliest Society for Psychical Research investigations—the Morton Ghost (aka The Cheltenham Ghost). Based on Miss R. C. Morton’s firsthand accounts, this episode traces a haunting that unfolds through a web of deaths, jealousies, and hidden jewellery. We unpack what the witnesses saw, how Frederic Myers and the SPR evaluated the evidence, and what this case reveals about early paranormal documentation. A compelling blend of history, human psychology, and cold, careful investigation.

  • The Face In The Leaves

In this episode, we peel back the ivy on one of the most persistent mysteries in folklore: The Green Man. He stares down from the rafters of our greatest cathedrals and hides in the scrap-land behind railway stations, but who—or what—is he? Is he a benign symbol of rebirth, or the "Woodwose"—a ferocious, rock-throwing savage that has haunted the Midlands since the 13th century?

We trace the lineage of the "Leaf-Mask" from Roman sea-gods to Gothic stone carvings, explore the terrifying "British Cryptid" files of Cannock Chase, and analyze a startling modern account from a witness at New Malden station who saw the foliage breathe, move, and retract.
