Have you ever asked yourself whether true intimacy in marriage is an achievable goal or just an elusive dream? What if we told you that true emotional and sexual intimacy could not only be achieved but also fostered and grown with time? As we share our personal experiences and insights, we reveal the significance of openness, vulnerability, and communication in achieving a deep and meaningful bond with your spouse. It's a candid discussion that exposes how one's sins can act as a roadblock to intimacy, and the importance of striking that delicate balance in approaching sex within marriage.
We then steer the conversation towards the boundaries of sex within the Christian marriage—defining what is permissible and what isn’t. There's a focus on adultery and how involving others in any way, physically or even in thought, is considered sinful. But that's not all, we shed light on the value of respecting your spouse's conscience and stepping away from ego-centric actions. We share our perspective on the role of sex in marriage— a gift to be cherished and an opportunity to glorify God.
Lastly, we delve into the beauty and purpose of God's design for marriage and the role intimacy plays in that divine plan. The importance of working on your marriage, seeking help when necessary, and forming relationships with fellow believers to fortify your marital bond is emphasized. We hope our open and honest conversation will inspire you to broach this important subject with your spouse. So tune in, and let's grow in intimacy together!

In this lively dialogue, we, Rebecca and Mike, expose the trials and triumphs of our own marital communication, revealing the beauty of resolving conflict, not just surviving it. With a blend of humor and seriousness, we unpack common gender communication differences and the pervasive impact of negative communication patterns in relationships.
What if learning to communicate effectively could transform your relationship? We delve into this, exploring how to recognize and address negative communication patterns like escalating, withdrawing, and avoiding. We also share our personal struggles, like Mike's initial propensity to avoid conflict and Rebecca's expectation for Mike to understand her feelings without vocalizing them. Sprinkled with anecdotes, including our own laundry wars, we shed a light on the importance of avoiding negative interpretations in your conversations.
As the conversation unfolds, we underscore the importance of validating feelings, rather than dismissing them, to facilitate healthy communication in conflict. We discuss brain development in men and children and how this influences communication. We also reflect on biblical insights for guidance, encouraging listeners to respond with grace and understanding, even during challenging situations. Whether it's navigating sibling rivalries or teaching our children to foster a team spirit, we highlight the significance of communication in family dynamics, wrapping up our discussion with a reflection on Psalm 19, 14. Can the divine concept of oneness in marriage lead to healing and reconciliation? Join us in this heartfelt conversation with my husband, Mike, as we share our own journey of rediscovery through a marriage class at our church called Re|Engage. It's not about reiterating the class, but about sharing the transformative lessons we picked up along the way – lessons that have created a profound connection, fellowship, and ultimately, a strengthened unity in our relationship.
Navigating the complexities of love can be chaotic. But in the midst of it all, Mike and I have discovered that men and women, despite their differences, can create a harmonious balance in their relationship. We've come to understand the societal pressures to stay single and independent, but we've chosen the biblical path of unity and oneness. Moreover, we reflect on how the enemy's attack on the family can be combated - not as isolated warriors, but as a united front. Above all else, we've unearthed the power of loving like Christ, a feat only achieved by acknowledging our own shortcomings in love.
Now, let's dive into the depths of John 1:7-21 and unpack the true essence of love. We discuss how love, being of divine origin, has no room for grudges, and how it flourishes when we remain in God. We also touch on the role of love in driving out fear and fostering a healthy environment for marriage and parenting. Heading towards the end, we reflect on Psalm 139, encouraging self-examination for any hurtful or anxious thoughts. Join us in this enlightening episode and let's strive to love more like Christ in our marriages.

Ever found yourself in a seemingly never-ending loop of misunderstandings and conflicts with your partner? What if we told you there was a name for it - the 'Crazy Cycle,' a theory by Dr. Emerson Eggerichs that we're about to decode. Prepare to be enlightened as we discuss the nuances of this cycle, humorously exemplified by our chandelier's bulbs incident. And yes, you've guessed it right, the Crazy Cycle is all about the interplay of love and respect, as stated in Ephesians 5:33.
We're all different, and so are our love languages and our perceptions of the world. We’ll explain these differences between men and women, and how they amplify the 'Crazy Cycle.' We'll uncover the five love languages and how they're perceived uniquely through our metaphorical pink and blue glasses. You'll also gain insight on how men's need for respect and women's need for love can bring about a divergence in their shared experiences and new projects.
In our mission to break this Crazy Cycle, Dr. Emerson's COUPLE advice - Closeness, Openness, Understanding, Peacemaking, Loyalty and Esteem, has been our guiding light. Listen on as we share the challenges faced by men, especially in terms of openness and understanding, and how it can create friction in relationships. We'll also discuss the impact of relying on friends for emotional support on relationship intimacy. And of course, we will share our personal journey of cycling together, the sentimental tale behind Mike's wedding band, and the power of kindness. Join us, in our radiant mission, as we break the Crazy Cycle.
