In This Episode:

• When we are born again, we become in communion with the Lord.
  • For Dr. Vaughn, being borna gain led to a lot of questions about our bodies and how they function. The journey of our lives is supposed to be in communion with God.
  • In the Old Testament there were tabernacles and they were a place to encounter God. Now, post-New Testament, Jesus bridged the gap. Jesus lives inside of man through the blood of Jesus. 
  • The temple of God, our bodies, is home to the living God. Why do we not think our health and what happens to our bodies and what’s happening to them matters? Or if something isn’t going well, we think there is a problem or He made a mistake or there’s a problem with His design?
  • Dr. Vaughn’s mission is to bridge the gap. To be a bridge to help people understand God, creation, and our bodies.
• We have to be in partnership with God in every aspect of our life.
  • How do we partner with God? 
• What is important to understand about God’s design for food and medicine versus mans?
• This is the deception of the modern medical industry that a lot of people don’t understand. The enemy gets his foot in the door and takes a little bit of truth—like we need medicine and God gave us things that are medicine. 
• God is trying to heal us. Symptoms are an indicator of something going on and exist for a reason. It’s our body communicating something. It could be a toxin. It could be trying to get mucus out or other illness.
• There’s no such thing as an incurable disease, only incurable people.

• Dr. Vaughn shares his testimony.

  • His message is: “who am I to separate God from my business when by the grace of God I am even still alive? That I am here. That I am reborn, that I’m a new person, that I’ve been saved. It’s like wow, I want the whole world to know about that! […] I want Jesus to be the center of everything we do at Spirit of Health so that people know about the goodness of God in every way, shape, or form.”
• Iridology: what it is and how it can be used as a tool to understand a person's health.
  • Iridologists can see genetics in the eye, congestion in the eye, and so much more. It’s a tool to help uncover problems. Who is our God that He wouldn’t give us some tools that aren’t man-made to figure out what’s going on with our bodies? There are many different ways. Our tongues, feet, pulse, and eyes can all give us clues to what is going on internally.
• What is Western Medicine missing? Partnership with God.
  • At the end of the day, who is in charge? The exultation of man or of God?
  • Dr. Vaughn’s vision is partnering with God to bring healing and restoration to all creation. His mission is to declare God’s rightful place in medicine through education and empowerment. He declares that God is the healer, He is still on the throne, and it’s impossible for a man to heal anymore because God is the Creator.
• What are some of the most common issues you’re running into?
  • Many people are chronically ill and don’t know why. They’ll go to the doctor and are given immunosuppressants for autoimmune disorders, pain killers for pain, steroids for pain or skin condition, but they’re suffering.
  • Why are people suffering? The quick answer is toxicity. 
  • The medical system does not check for why people are sick. Yet, a simple test can tell us if someone has mold toxicity or Lyme disease. Interestingly, the most common issue causing chronic illness are parasites. 
  • Chronic infection is the number issue plaguing humanity right now.
  • Other issues causing chronic illness are heavy metal poisoning, mercury, aluminum, lead, chemical toxicity, herbicides, pesticides, glyphosate, parabens, radioactive elements (like uranium and cesium).

• Courtney Lozano shares the meaning behind her business, Soothsayer Tea House & Apothecary.
• God created herbs and plants that help us to heal our bodies in very specific ways. Dandelion root, for instance, is actually one of the most powerful plants on the planet.
  • After researching, I learned that histamine reactions mean there is an issue in the liver. And more than that, that dandelion root can help cleanse the liver! I began taking dandelion root capsules and drinking dandelion root tea. In just a few days, this issue that plagued me was gone! That’s when I first realized that God put herbs and plants here to help us heal.
• There is healing power in every plant. Not all elements of a plant will be good for us. But there is a balance to be found from each plant.
• What’s the deal with essential oils?
• What’s the deal with homeopathy? How is it related to herbalism?
  • A good question to ask is: who created this plant and gave it a personality?
• In episodes 41, 42, and 43, Rachel and I talked about pharmakeia and how medicine in many ways provides this illusion of “health” while really keeping people sick (or worse, giving them cancers, *cough* birth control). On the other end of the coin, God created plants. They are alive and serve a purpose. Yet quote “health” is now being created in labs and plants are being poisoned and killed. What is going on here?

In Episode 43 we tie together Pharmakeia with Rockefeller and the History of Western Medicine.

In This Episode on Rockefeller and the History of Western Medicine:

• We begin by recapping our discussions in ep 41 and 42. These episodes bring us to the history of Western medicine and how we are where we are with medicine in our world today.
• When researching this topic, I found a really helpful article titled How Rockefeller Created the Business of Western Medicine. The author of this article details the story of John D. Rockefeller, who was born in 1839 and died in 1937. He is considered the wealthiest American of ALL TIME, and the richest person in modern history. He is the most famous for securing a monopoly in America’s oil market. By the turn of the 20th century, Rockefeller controlled 90% of all petroleum refineries in American throughout ownership of the Standard Oil Corporation (later split into Mobil, Chevron, Exxon, etc.).
• At the same time, the scientific world was getting excited about the new “petrochemicals” and the ability to create a variety of new compounds from oil. Some of the first products derived from petrochemicals were plastics, but organic chemists knew that oil had the potential to create more than just plastic toys.
• So, what does this have to do with Rockefeller? Well, he was smart enough to see what was going on as a big business opportunity, especially as it related to petroleum. He saw the connection between petroleum, chemicals, and the medical world.
• Natural and herbal medicines were very popular in America during the early 1900s. Almost one half the medical colleges and doctors in America were practicing holistic medicine, using extensive knowledge from Europe and Native American traditions. Rockefeller knew that to get total control of the medical industry he would have to expunge the competition. 
• With new laws in place, Rockefeller teamed up with Andrew Carnegie and started funding medical schools all over America on the strict condition that they only taught allopathic medicine. 
• After removing traditional medicine from medical schools, Rockefeller made sure to secure his monopoly by launching a targeted smear campaign against his competitors. Homeopathy and natural medicines were discredited and demonized through the newspapers and other media of the time.  Some doctors were even jailed for using natural medicine treatments, including treatments that had been used safely and effectively for decades before. In a very short time, medical colleges were all homogenized.
• Just as the serpent deceived Eve in the garden, so the Nephilim continued that deception, and the story continues on today.

In Episode 42 we continue to discuss Pharmakeia from a Biblical perspective including symbolism, mythology and the Nephilim. As we’re entering the End Times and deception is more and more prevalent, we feel convicted to speak up about topics like this one.

In This Episode:

• The symbolism of Pharmakeia that is presented to us even today in the medical world. There is a popular symbol of medicine used today called the caduceus.
  • It is a staff with two snakes coiled around it, is the official insignia of the United States Medical Corps, Navy Pharmacy Division, and the Public Health Service. The caduceus is also the magic wand carried by Hermes (the Romans knew him as Mercury), the messenger of the gods.
• So, the emblem of Western medicine is rooted in serpent worship? Who do we think came up with this idea? Sounds like something the serpent himself would’ve come up with, no? 
  • Satan is an imitator. He has created nothing and wants nothing more than to ruin God’s beautiful creation. What better way to do this than through pharmakeia, aka sorcery, aka modern-day pharmaceuticals?
  • If the Lord created herbs, plants, animals, the sun, and positive relationships to help heal us, it only makes sense to me that the enemy would attack those things. 
  • Why use an herb or a plant when the enemy places a shiny pill in front of you to “solve your problems?” It’s the illusion of healing in front of us, when the truth is that these pharmaceuticals were designed to keep us entrapped in the medical system, dependent on it, in its cycle.
•  Mythology references.
  • Listen back to episodes 3-6 on spiritual warfare and Genesis 6 for context on the Nephilim.
  • Said briefly, the Greek gods were likely not a “myth.” They were likely the offspring of the fallen angels. 
• So, who is Asclepius? He was the god of medicine, healing, rejuvenation, and physicians. In depictions of Asclepius, he is shown with a staff with a coiled snake. To the Greeks, snakes were sacred beings of wisdom, healing, and resurrection.
  • The point in mentioning this symbolism is to emphasize the roots of pharmakeia and where it began, and the fact that it’s still very much the same today. The Bible tells us to stay away from sorcery, which is also something the Nephilim are known for creating. 
•  The Bible clearly says in Revelation that during the end times ALL the nations will be deceived by the whore of Great Babylon with her sorceries. Sorcery is Greek word for Pharmakeia. Pharmakeia is connected with administering drugs, poisons, sorcery, magic arts, deception, and idolatry. 
  • And what’s going on in our world today? The medical industry has been deeply infiltrated and controlled by evil sorcerers. It is a tool of the enemy.

In Episode 41 we dive into the use of the word Pharmakeia as referenced in the Bible, and its modern-day correlation to what we refer to today as pharmacy, pharmaceuticals, or pharmacist.

In This Episode:

• The Greek word pharmakeia appears in Galatians 5:20 and Revelation 18:23. Terms from the same root word appear in Revelation 9:21, Revelation 21:8, and Revelation 22:15.
• Pharmakeia is defined as “sorcery,” “witchcraft,” or “sorcerer.”
• Online Etymology Dictionary explains the word “pharmacy” as follows: “This is from pharmakeus (fem. pharmakis) "a preparer of drugs, a poisoner, a sorcerer" from pharmakon "a drug, a poison, philter, charm, spell, enchantment." 
• What about pharmakeia from a scriptural perspective?
  • The book of Enoch is not in scripture, it’s an apocryphal book. However, it adds an interesting layer to what we’re told about the Watchers in Genesis 6. 
  • In Genesis 6 we’re told how the sons of God fell from heaven and they took human as their wives and procreated. Their offspring are what is referred to as the Nephilim or giants.
  • In the book of Enoch, the “sons of God,” also known as fallen angels, are called Watchers. For more context and explanation, be sure to listen to Episode 4 – Spiritual Warfare: The Nephilim & The Spiritual Realm. You might also want to check out Episode 5 – The Nephilim Part 2: How Demons Influence Us.
  • The Watchers are mentioned as essentially sorcerers of sorts. 
• Scholars have deduced that the knowledge from the Watchers, or fallen angels, is where magic, sorcery, and medicine stems from. This is the genesis of that in human history. It was taught to humans when they intermingled with the fallen angels.
• How then does the use of pharmakeia relate to modern-day pharmacy?
  • There is a cause and effect that we can’t ignore when it comes to modern-day pharmaceuticals. While a drug might solve a particular health problem, it can also create other problems. It is not unlike the sorcery or spells referred to Biblically as pharmakeia.
  • We are sold lies that a drug can “free” us, when they can actually do quite the opposite. 
• Arguments have been made that Revelation 18:23 is a prediction of the times we’re in. “For by your sorcery [pharmakeia] all the nations were deceived.”
• Does this mean that drugs can’t be used for good? No. But what if the lesson here is bigger than an etymology debate? What if what the Lord wants us to conclude from all this is to be extremely cautious about what we put inside our temples?

In Episode 39 we discuss Biblical Prophecy with special guest, Jessica Speas. She shares her testimony, how she began eschatology, and the importance of using discernment during these times.

In This Episode on Biblical Prophecy: Using Discernment in a Time of Deception:

• Jessica shares her backstory.
• Jessica began to study eschatology and decided to put together a timeline of these prophetic events.
• Looking forward to Jesus coming (and realizing it’s so close) lit a fire in Jessica.
• The Lord is waking people up. There are watchmen on the wall calling out: this is coming. We need to be spiritually ready.
• In Matthew 24 it talks about birth pains and the signs being birth pains. What’s interesting is that in our world now, they have literally been trying to change or numb all of the natural aspects of birth. Each generation is losing what the context “birth pains” actually means.
• Why should mothers use discernment when it comes to Disney?
• Making the change was hard. But in the moments of the hard she realized just how much of a deception it was.
• Another example of how children are conditioned through what they watch is with The Little Mermaid.
• Television is a very new idea. For 6,000 years it was not a thing. In the past 100 years it has become more and more popular.
  • In Daniel 12:3-4 it says, “Those who are wise will shine like the brightness of the heavens, and those who lead many to righteousness, like the stars for ever and ever. 4 But you, Daniel, roll up and seal the words of the scroll until the time of the end. Many will go here and there to increase knowledge.”
  • Nowhere in history has knowledge abounded like the past 100 years. From cell phones to pagers to computers, technology and knowledge has become unstoppable. 
• It’s important as Christians that we use discernment.
