I first heard this from Brooke Castillo from The Life Coach School and I have added my own twist to it, so here we go. We have all said at some stage, maybe in a joking way, maybe in a little bit of joking with a hint of serious 'Yeah, I just need to win the lotto' 'sooo you'll win the lotto this week yeah?'

But seriously, why do we attach to this INSTANT success, instant gratification of having something instantly?

I know I have said it before, but let's think of it in a different way – let's imagine you get a phone call today that you have won $20million…your life has instantly changed yeah? Your whole world is turned upside down in the most amazing way & things are suddenly amazing.

But…they really are not. Nothing has changed physically. The only thing that has changed is your thoughts. Your bank account is still exactly the same as it was before. For all you know it could be a hoax, yet you let it mean that your life is now suddenly amazing but there is actually no more money in your bank account…the happiness you are creating in the moment is based on your thoughts and the prospect of what your life could look like…so, my biggest question to you is can we look forward at what we see coming or want In our future, what we are working towards and generate that same joy? Same happiness? AND can we look at our current state of life and same, generate that same happiness.

I say HELL YES!

Big call for a little girl. But, I am standing by this. Money won't make you happy. BUT this also doesn't mean that money isn't AMAZING, because it is. It enables us to do amazing things in life. Have the houses we do, drive the cars we do, go out to dinner and go on some amazing adventures.

So, money is good…money doesn't bring happiness…soooo what does all this mean.

If were honest with ourselves, we've all said it before…'If only I had $50,000 everything would be so much better' 'if only I wont the lotto – things would be so easy'

We've all said it. And why? Because as humans we want it to be easy. We naturally want things to have a quick fix. But when it comes down to it, when we achieve something big, and this might be money we look back at the JOURNEY and go WOW, I did that. I made that happen – THAT is the happiness part of having that money.

BUT, on a whole other token if you don't find your happiness from within first, NOTHING will ever make you happy. Happiness does not come from things – what you feel there is fake happy, or instant gratification. We get the car, its exciting we have that drive of satisfaction but then that happiness doesn't last. That car is just the 'fix' its not the REAL happiness.

We've all been there, we've all done it. You know when you feel 'off' you don't feel great. Maybe someone has said something to you? Maybe something has happened in your life and you are hurting, your thoughts are running wild and really, you are hurting emotionally.

Have you been there as well? So, what do you do?

I know for me, one of my biggest what we call 'buffers' was to keep busy. I would become SO busy I didn't have the time to think about my emotions. I use the analogy that I would grab an emotion and not deal with it (because honestly, I didn't have the skills or tools to know WHAT to do with this emotion and what I needed) so, I would stuff it in my top drawer.

Then, as you can imagine something else would come up…so what would I do? Grab the emotion and stuff it in the top drawer. But, what happens when the drawer gets too full – that's right. It BURST OPEN!!!!! And when it opens back up, imagine everything you supressed (stuffed in the drawer) coming back ALL at once!!! – Yep, not nice!

So, what can you do about it? How can you stop avoiding you emotional pain? The first thing is to identify what you are doing to 'buffer' and avoid the pain?

Let's think for a moment. How do you treat you? What do you say to you? What do you fuel you with? How do you physically treat yourself? And why is this so important?

The way you treat yourself…you are showing others how to treat you.

How does that make you feel? Because we I first figured this out, my mind was literally blown!!! Why? Because honestly, I always use to sit in the victim mindset, that everything that no one was being nice to me, that I wasn't enough, that no one liked me…do you relate?

Because I'm here to tell you that there is no person more worthy than another. Everyone is born, everyone has experiences and even though some people might have been dealt a much harder life than others, we all still have a choice how we treat ourselves and when it comes down to it…you are with yourself all the time…so, shouldn't you like that person you spend so much time with?

I know I'm next level and talk to myself like a creep, joke with myself etc but when it comes down to it, I honestly love who I am and I treat myself with honest and utter respect. And HONESTLY,it means others treat me with respect, they love me at the core and when I do come across people that are 'nasty' and in the victim mindset I either remove myself from the situation, or I ensure I am still just feeding myself and then love (or light as my Mentor Jo calls it when you really can believe you love that person) and honestly, they either leave your life or you can deal with them.
