Rodney McClure, Founder & Lead Care Pastor of One Need, and Lance Osborne, the organization’s CEO join The Redeemed Man Podcast. Community churches are always getting requests for help from people in difficult financial situations, but they don’t always have the time, manpower, or resources to give those requests the attention they deserve. One Need partners with churches to review requests for assistance, determine what the actual need is, and broadcast the need to e-mail subscribers who can donate to help. “What the partnership with One Need allows that church to do is have a full-time benevolence team. It’s all we do,” Osborne says. “And because it’s all we do, we’re able to spend the right amount of time that it takes to go through that discernment process, because it’s in that conversation that we’re able to trust these people.”

Kevin Harris, president of Radical Mentoring, joins The Redeemed Man podcast. Radical Mentoring is a ministry facilitating group mentorship opportunities and helping individuals find the tools to lead groups.
Rather than being one-on-one and topic-driven, the organization’s group mentorship model, as envisioned by founder Regi Campbell, mirrors the conversations Jesus had with disciples and followers: open, freewheeling, sharing stories rather than giving lectures. “What we are saying is your qualifications to be a mentor are your life story, your life experiences, and your willingness to open your life up to younger men and tell them about some of the places you’ve been and the mistakes you’ve made,” explains Harris, who benefited from the group himself while dealing with depression and career-related stress. “Not just to have you teach us everything you know.”

John Shibley joins The Redeemed Man podcast to discuss how to become a servant leader. John Shibley is a leadership coach who is spreading the gospel of servant leadership through his podcast, writing, and ministry. Servant leadership means focusing less on one’s own power, influence, and accomplishments and instead prioritizing the growth and well-being of those being led—recognizing that we have just as much a responsibility to serve them as they have to serve us. And that’s not just a positive management technique, Shibley says, it’s walking in the footsteps of Jesus Himself, the greatest servant-leader who ever lived. “Maybe more people are trying to dig in and examine their spiritual side,” he suggests, “and maybe as they dig and understand who Jesus is a little more, they realize, ‘Wow, this was his model 2,000 years ago, what have we been doing this whole time?’ ”

Garret Barbush, president and CEO of Men of Iron, a ministry that develops frameworks and resources for a number of different kinds of mentoring relationships joins The Redeemed Man Podcast.
There are plenty of younger men out there looking for advice and mentoring from men with more life experience, Barbush says, and many older men who would jump at the chance to share what they’ve learned with a younger generation. “There’s just this stalemate that’s happening in God’s kingdom right now, and it’s that men just aren’t asking for it,” he explains.

Britt Gusmus, joins The Redeemed Man Podcast. Britt Gusmus, author of the recently released The Oak Tree Source, as well as co-author of The Impact of Influence, released last year. He was also a multi-sport athlete with prospects in Major League Baseball before, as he freely admits, bad choices and a lack of emotional maturity derailed his athletic career. But his spiritual journey taught him that he needed to “evolve” from what the world saw him as into the man God wanted him to be. Now a coach, educator, and speaker, he draws upon his experiences to inspire similar evolutions in men of all ages.

Gary Miracle joins The Redeemed Man podcast. Gary Miracle, a Tampa-area husband and father of four for whom a catastrophic blood infection cost all four of his limbs in early 2020. Yet his first thought upon learning the news wasn’t anger or despair, but rather the wisdom of the Book of Job—”The Lord gives, and the Lord takes away.” “I remember thinking that in my life, it was just my taking-away time. I can’t be thankful all my life for the things He’s given me and then be mad at Him for the things He’s taken away,” Miracle says.
Today, armed with a wheelchair and prosthetics, Miracle does everything from household chores to coaching his kids’ sports teams and running two-mile races. And he hopes his story will inspire other people to find hope and healing through Christ. “I just want to preach from the rooftops about God’s grace, how good God is, and how He doesn’t make mistakes.”
