I am usually all about the fresh start of a new year. But in entering 2021, after a year like 2020, I find myself hesitating, cautious, and taking it slow. I feel a bit intimidated by the uncertainty of what lies ahead. But over the past few weeks, we've celebrated and been reminded of God With Us, and I'm remembering how that also means God goes before us. As we wrap up 2020, here is one more reminder to carry into 2021. I've been learning to trust that God does significant work behind the scenes and that God's faithfulness does not depend on our awareness of it. We might not be able to see or feel it, but when we reflect and remember, we can trace the thread of God's faithfulness all throughout our lives, realizing we never were and never are forgotten or alone. I don't know about you, but for me, it has been much more difficult to find God's goodness in a year like 2020.  But that doesn't mean that God is absent or that there isn't any goodness to be found. It just means that when it isn't as obvious as we would like it to be, seeking it out becomes even more important. We have to train ourselves to look for the reminders. I'm finding that more often than not, they are found in the unexpected, ordinary moments of every day life.

Today, if you feel empty, weary, or down, listen in as we remember to look for the reminders, finding what is significant and holy in the small and subtle.
