What’s up, Y’all?
The downer for today is that I couldn’t make it to Yellowstone. My lower back is pretty bad. There’s no way I could make a 7 hour drive and I wouldn’t be able to even walk to take photographs once we got there. Plus Mai was still pretty sick from her cold. So, $800 down the drain for the three nights we should have been there.
But surprisingly, I’m OK with that.
I’ve gotten better over the years with disappointment. It makes no sense to get angry or overly sad about things beyond my control. I’m always trying to keep my eyes off of the rearview mirror while driving down the road of life.
The windshield is the best place to focus. There are new opportunities coming at me daily. I choose to focus on that, so I don’t miss them.
Thank you for giving this one a listen today. I appreciate you lending me your ears. Your support of this thing I do daily to fight fascism is appreciated. I hope I give back to you what you put into supporting my writing and podcasting.
Much love, from flat on my back. &:^)

Man, it’s been a hell of a day, once again.
Between the usual fuckery of the Trump administration, this war between Israel and Iran, and the things I’m dealing with regarding my father’s healh, it’s been a lot. We also missed the first day of our Yellowstone trip because my back went out and Mai had a cold.
We’re determined to still leave tomorrow, regardless of all this shit. We need a break.
Give this a listen and I’ll explain it in detail. I’m running out of energy to type much more than this. I appreciate you all lending me your ears, thank you so much.

What’s up, Y’all?
It’s been a bit rough over here, today. My phone has been going crazy this week, with everything that’s going on with my father in the hospital. For the first time in years, I have the notifications enabled on my phone.
I’d been on Silent Mode for so long, I’d forgotten what my ringtone was.
In today’s podcast episode, I talk about how selling real estate and being a small business owner ruined notifications for me. And why I’ve been angrier this week than I have in years. Something’s gotta give, and I think I know what it is.
Give this one a listen, if you don’t mind. I appreciate you lending me your ears. It’s always incredible to see your support of my work through the comments and stats I look at on each piece. Thank you so much for your support!

I’m in a run-down, somewhat pissy mood this morning. And of course, it’s because of Donald Douchebag.
Part of it is dealing with the things I’m handling on behalf of my father. His medical care, the next moves after the hospital, and trying to keep things together for the sake of my mother and extended family. It’s a lot.
The idea of him losing Medicaid really fucking chaps my ass.
I was thinking about this yesterday as we were trying to figure out a good place to put him once he’s released from the hospital. He can’t go back home, it’s too hard on my mother. After 5 years, she’s tapped out. She has health problems of her own to deal with.
Thinking about Traitor Trump cutting off Medicaid benefits for millions of at-risk Americans is FUCKED. Especially when he’s personally enriching himself while in office. He’s a shit businessman and terrible at his job.
At least he’s almost bankrupted ICE in 5 months.
Please give this one a listen and let me know your thoughts. I always value and appreciate the things you all leave in the comments. It’s so helpful, having the encouragement from my Mouthy Militia family. It means more than you know, during this difficult time I’m going through with my father.

Death fucks with me.
It has for the longest time. Most of my adult life, actually. About the time I left the church and realized that there likely isn’t a Heaven and Hell, it’s screwed with my mind. I hate the idea of not being around, someday.
I love life and the people I have in mine. Leaving them make me feel horrible.
I’ve written about this several times. Now that my father’s health is in decline and we’re facing difficult decisions about his end-of-life care, I’m thinking about death more than ever. And I don’t like it. But I have to push on and handle this for my family’s sake.
Today’s podcast episode talks about the things I’ve been going through the past three days. And the difficult decisions that lie ahead. I’m not feeling at all well in terms of mental health, but I’m doing my best. I appreciate your support, and I’m sure many of you have faced this challenge yourselves.
Thank you for lending me your ears. You’re valued and appreciated more than you know.

Donald Trump’s birthday parade was fucking stupid, which brought me much joy. But there was a rough downside to yesterday. It made the day really rough.
My father had a slip and fall and ended up in the hospital. He’s not doing well.
Tough decisions had to be made. As the oldest son in town, it landed on me. My mother and I consult each other on each decision, as my father’s decline continues. I talk about that in today’s episode of The Renegade Writer’s Mouthy Musings.
Happy Father’s Day to you all. I am planning to start Dad’s spaghetti for the family, the way I like doing things. Even on Father’s Day. ESPECIALLY on Father’s Day.
Wish you were here with us, Pop. Rest up. We’ve got your back.

I’m having a hard morning. I’m really struggling right now. This blows.
On the day of the biggest protest in American history, I’m having a hell of a time. More people will take to the streets today to protest a wannabe fascist dictator than another other in our nation’s history. I had my plans all set to be there to participate in it.
Then my father fell this morning. He’s in the hospital. And I’m torn between rushing there immediately, or attending the protest and swinging by after.
He didn’t break any bones. He’s just weak from having cancer. And my mother is struggling to care for him in their home. She has her own health issues that make things difficult to handle his needs. Something has to change.
Mai has graciously offered to pick her up and take her to the hospital once there is news to report. And speaking of reporting news, I really want to be a part of this No Kings Protest. My journalism is one of the very most important things to me.
But is it more important than family? Even on a historic day like today? I’m not so sure.
I pride myself on doing the right things in life. I want to set an example for my own children. Someday, I could be in the same position and hope that they would drop what they’re doing in my time of need. But is sitting in a hospital for hours, waiting for answers my highest and best use, as a human being?
Do I show up to fight for our country’s freedom, or comfort my father? I talk about this in today’s podcast episode. Whatever I end up deciding, something won’t feel right.
I hope I make the right choice. Being a few hours late to the hospital shouldn’t make me feel like the worst person on the planet.
But right now, it sure feels that way.

Happy Friday, Everyone!
I hope your weekend has started off well. It’s an important one. Not because of Donald Dick’s stupid small-dick-energy birthday/military parade tomorrow. To hell with that noise. Rumor has it that it might even be canceled, due to thunderstorms.
Boy, that would piss him off. But I kind of hope he goes forward with it, anyway. And gets hit by lightning. Unlikely, but a fella can dream, right?
The big news is the mass protests. They’re going to be all over the nation. Millions of people will take to the streets to protest against fascism and tyranny. We have had enough of Spray Tan Shitler’s bullshit.
No fascists. No dictators. No Kings.
But we need to stay safe. Trump has turned the military against the people they’ve sworn to defend. They’re taking orders from a madman. And it won’t end well for many protesters this weekend, and others moving forward. These tips can help you stay safe.
Give this one a listen, and I hope you find some useful information in here. We have a job to do, let’s get it done and stay safe. Keep your head on a swivel, be smart, and know your enemy.

Man, that was badass!
We sure had a wonderful time with the Mouthy Militia and K.R. Byers’ subscribers. Talk about a bunch of fun. Even Libby the Mooch enjoyed herself.
Especially when she was digging into my pocket, where her peanut butter bone was hidden. *Note to self: Next time, put it in the left pocket.
Thank you all for joining us, commiserating about Donald DoucheLord, and chatting about the events we’re living through. This is history in real time. And it’s up to us all to push as hard as we can to come through it united and victorious. We’ll do it by banding together, writing, podcasting, and sharing this message:
No fascism. No dictators. No kings.
And no Trump. This weekend is going to be a pivotal time. We’re going to take it to the streets, marching, chanting, and recording it all. The revolution WILL be televised.
Thank you for joining us for it. We had a blast and hope you did, too. Until our next live, hang tough. Be strong. And be safe. And please hit that subscribe button, especially for my friend. Let’s help Kenyon grow, Mouthy Militia. Thank you!

Y’all…
Man, did I really do it good this time. I wrote a piece earlier today that was meant to be funny. Satire. A tongue-in-cheek humor article about what it would look like if I suddenly changed my writing style. If I had to praise Trump rather than roast him, to keep my freedom.
It was silly. It was humorous. And it fucking pissed me off.
I felt disgusted by the end of it. Even though I feel I accomplished my mission of creating a funny, satirical spoof of switching sides while still sarcastically insulting Spray Tan Shitler, it just made me feel bad. I hate Donald Trump and everything he stands for.
I’m shaking it off, though. I have to get ready for my Substack Live with K.R. Byers and Libby the Mooch. I don’t plan to be in a pissy mood when we spend some much-needed time with the Mouthy Militia. We have orange dick-tators to roast and make fun of. So I’m hitting the reset button, and the venting I did in this episode has me feeling a bit better.
Let’s do this thing here in a bit. We hope that we see as many of you as possible in about an hour. Join us at 6 PM EST and let’s vent, laugh, and make fun of Combover Caligula together. We have a lot to discuss before the big protests this weekend.
Thank you for lending me your ears, once again. It means everything to me.
