I’m struggling with my mental health, Y’all. And I blame it fully on Donald Dump.

King Nothing. The Duke of Douchiness. The Ignorant Ingrate. Take your pick, he’s the fucking worst. I discuss this in today’s podcast episode. I don’t know how much more of his bullshit I can take.

I’m certain that I’m not alone in all of this.

And it really is. Even though I had a couple of things happen earlier than I felt wrecked my plans, there was something that helped to change my outlook about it.

We tend to fixate on the negative more than the positive, as human beings.

I’m trying to get better at that, but it’s a work in progress. A few things didn’t go my way at first today. But I’ve gotten better over the years at realizing what I can and can’t control.

I can’t control a lot of what happens to me, but I CAN control how I react to it.

Happy Mother’s Day to all mothers out there. I hope you’re able to spend it with your family and friends. Assuming you’re not being held against your will by ICE.

Or deported already.

The domestic terrorist organization is rounding up immigrants all over the United States. Usually, while being masked, like the cowards they are. They know they’re doing wrong. Separating mothers from their children without having to show their badge, or allowing for due process.

Our country is fucked right now. Mothers raised these politicians and ICE terrorists. They know better than this. It has to end. We must stop the insanity.

I’m so pissed off right now. I had quite an emotional time last night, right before trying to fall asleep. I couldn’t focus on the Substack and news articles I was reading. The photos were blurry. The words, hard to read.

This happens when you have tears in your eyes.

As I lay next to my sleeping Bride and Libby the Mooch, I felt empathy for the immigrants who are being kidnapped by our corrupt government and having their rights violated. And don’t get it wrong, fair-complexioned white Europeans aren’t the ones being snatched from their homes, their workplaces, or the street.

They’re targeting brown people. It’s racism at its worst.

When your president is a lawbreaking, ignorant, racist piece of shit, this happens. And his hired goons, who are too twatish to show their pasty white faces, are doing this as acts of cruelty. To stick it to the Libs. And now they’ve arrested the mayor of Newark and threatened Democratic members of Congress.

Such is life. There are always interesting things to notice and observe when you’re looking for them. I tend to pay attention to the many things around me. Noticing things helps me as a writer. I’ve always been a pretty observant person.

Good afternoon, Friends!

Today has been an interesting one so far. Between reading about and writing about racism, taking Mooch on her walk, and noticing a couple of disturbing things, I’m feeling my age.

Still, I probably have it better than others. I don’t take that for granted.

My thing is probably more of a humorous annoyance than anything. I notice a lot of shit in life. Comedians, by nature, tend to be quite observational, and then they write the jokes relating to such things. I enjoy that, as a humor writer.

Honestly, I can’t wait to be a grumpy old man, like Paulie Walnuts here in the main photo. This is only gonna get worse the longer it goes, this aging thing. At least I can maintain a sense of humor about it. I hope you’ll enjoy that in today’s episode.
