Today we ask ourselves the question Where Did We Leave Off? For this podcast we switch it up a bit and bring in two guests for a series of discussions all based around the coming of age and growth of two friends meeting in very unlikely circumstances. How change can seem unsettling but have immense rewards, and how four years down the road of friendship we all have new lessons of growth that are deserving of being told to the world. A great final episode to wrap up the season!

Confidence has so many different meanings in many different contexts. However, when we look at the younger self and the environments where we grew up, our confidence was something that was developed from trials, and a repetitive idea of the self. This episode's guest is someone who I met from my times in a private school which shaped both of our upbringings and perceptions of the self. Tune in to learn about the limitations that came with being immersed in a very unique culture, where our confidence was overlooked and therefore diminished. How did we use self-reflection to unlearn harmful perceptions of our identities which gravely affected out self-esteem and made us shy away from opportunities of simply being seen. This episode is not one to miss. Nonye is a well spoken advocate on culture and inclusion. She provides insight on overcoming limited confidence and emphasizes the importance of making a difference. Let’s revisit this era!
When we look back on how we became the way we are today there is so much to discuss about emotional development that this episode could easily have a part 2! Welcome to episode 7 where my friend Keziah and I talk about the struggles of learning to process emotion as adults when none of us were taught what to do with these big feelings. We get raw and vulnerable as we debrief on the past and discuss ways in which we have learned to understand and let our emotions educate us about the self as adults. This episode is so authentic and I definitely learned SO much from my guest as she made amazing points on learning to cope with emotional strain. Hit play right now!!!

Welcome to episode 6 of The Revisiting Era! For this weeks episode join me and my amazing friend Debora as we share our experiences of being exposed to a new country in such a raw and genuine way. Hear about our experiences with taking a leap of faith as adults to discover what always felt unfamiliar. Hear about our shocking realizations of what the world holds for us and who we are because of what we have seen. Such a great time making this episode with one of the coolest people I've met. Stay a while and tune in!
Welcome to episode 5! In this episode my guest Leila and I talk about the hardships with our childhood home environments. How they shaped us and how we gained growth from this area of adversity. Instability within the home, both the physical and the dynamic aspects of the environment created a loss of control as we came of age. This discussion focuses a lot on our first discovery of peace and stability as we transitioned into college life, how we learned gratitude amidst our circumstances and how we have prioritized our healing through this new perspective of identifying peace among chaos. An episode you won't want to miss in this series! Definitely tune in for more!
"Are you even hispanic?" A question we used to ask ourselves in the midst of our time in private school. In this episode I have my guest Jocelyn joining me to discuss the impact of attending a private school while identifying as a hispanic/latina. How growing up feeling different, like an outcast, or separated from our culture, made us realize the greater need to seek out our cultural identity as adults. What damage did private school cause us? And how did we go about obtaining what we lost at such young ages? Join us as we dive into our educational experiences in pursuit of something that shaped the way we see ourselves today!
Welcome to episode three where we discuss the ins and outs, the pros and cons, the rights the wrongs with intentionality and the act of being intentional. My guest star this week is my close friend Jessica who I have the honor to bring on this series. Sit tight as we dive into this philosophical concept and intentionally spill the tea on how we see this concept today in relevance to our past experiences.
On this weeks episode I have one of my best friends Claudia discussing Fake Friends, the drama, the trauma, and all the above! How have our friendships ranging from childhood to adulthood shaped us?
