Richie is joined by Wayne Burdett, the author of new book: "Easter Eggs in the Matrix: Did A Movie Predict the Real-Life Assassination of Charlie Kirk 27 Years Later?" Wayne has been looking at Brian De Palma's 1998 thriller Snake Eyes, starring Nicolas Cage. In the film, a senior American political figure called Charles Kirkland attends a packed public event and is assassinated by a sniper — with the fatal shot striking him in the neck. Twenty-seven years later, Charles “Charlie” Kirk was shot and killed at a public event in Utah, also suffering a gunshot wound to the neck.

And that's only the starting point. Wayne's book identifies a collection of other apparent parallels between the film and the Kirk assassination — some quite striking, others considerably more speculative — and asks whether we're looking at an extraordinary collection of coincidences, the human tendency to find patterns after the event, something sometimes called “predictive programming”, or something stranger still.
