Rick Sanchez welcomes filmmaker/political commentator Katie Halper to the show to discuss some of the myths and misconceptions about the war between Russia and Ukraine. They tackle a variety of alarming topics like the reason that the US and former British Prime Minister Boris Johnson convinced Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky to cease peace talks with Putin before the war started, the large neo-Nazi faction that exists inside of the Ukrainian military, and the fact that NATO is not really necessary anymore. Sanchez and Halper lament the poor journalism being exhibited by the mainstream media these days and yearn for the days when the media would challenge and question war efforts, instead of acting like PR firms for the State Department.

Rick Sanchez and show producer Scotty Mednick dissect the recent scandal involving Los Angeles City Council President Nury Martinez who was secretly recorded making tasteless comments about a colleague and his African American son.  While they both agree that the comments were rude and showed bad form, they were not racist and Martinez should not have been forced to resign.  Sanchez asks why no Latino leader came to her aid and why he’s the only one defending her.  Crisis management expert Evan Nierman joins the conversation and explains that the current trend of cancel culture sweeping the country is dangerous, un-American, and destroying people’s lives.  Nierman contends that we cannot allow internet mobs to become the judges, jurors, and executioners of what is right and wrong.

Rick Sanchez is joined by show producer Scotty Mednick and they discuss the recent incident in San Antonio, Texas where a police officer shot and seriously injured a 17-year-old Latino male after mistaking him for a wanted criminal. Erik Cantu was shot 10 times while sitting in his car in a McDonald’s parking lot eating hamburgers with his girlfriend. The officer did not identify himself as a law representative, did not follow proper police procedure, and has since been fired by the SAPD. Sanchez then welcomes indigenous activist Christian Porrier to discuss the truth about Christopher Columbus and the atrocities that he committed against the indigenous people who inhabited the countries he discovered. History books paint him as a hero, but his actions and the reign of terror he launched across the Caribbean islands and their people make him more of a monster.

Rick Sanchez reviews his recent guest appearance on CNBC’s finance and investment show, Mad Money with Jim Cramer, where they spoke about the economic force that Latinos in the United States represent and the different ways that the media continues to ignore and misrepresent this crucial data.  Sanchez then welcomes show producer Scotty Mednick to the show and they discuss a variety of topics including Nancy Pelosi’s recent gaff where she stated that Latino immigrants were important to this country mostly so they could work on farms picking produce, a recent poll that showed the latest Latino trends in politics, and a new clip making the rounds that shows President Biden in Puerto Rico apparently claiming to be Puerto Rican, himself.  But upon further review, the clip was taken completely out of context and is just another example of the shoddy state of journalism that we have in this country today.

Rick Sanchez and show producer Scotty Mednick discuss a recent story reported on Fox News saying that the majority of the Venezuelan immigrants coming into the US are violent criminals that were taken out of prisons and sent to Texas and Florida by the Venezuelan government.  Sanchez and Mednick affirm that this story has no credible source and was simply used as a defense mechanism by the GOP after Florida Governor Ron DeSantis started receiving harsh criticism for exporting 50 Venezuelan immigrants to Massachusetts last month.  Sanchez then welcomes Venezuelan journalists Ana Flores and Luis Sucre to the show and they reveal that direct flights to the US from Venezuela don’t exist and that the actual journey that these immigrants must endure is long, arduous, and very dangerous.

Rick Sanchez welcomes show producer Scotty Mednick and they discuss the current lawsuit being levied against former President Trump by the state of New York and the dreadful way that it was covered by Fox News.  News anchor Harris Faulkner treated the story as a political ploy by the left wing and buried the story in order to cover for Trump and make excuses.  They agree that if this lawsuit was being brought against Hilary Clinton, Fox News would be treating the story very differently.  Sanchez and Mednick then switch gears and talk about Jenna Ryan, a January 6th insurrectionist who boasted on social media that she would not go to jail simply because she was a white woman with blonde hair and blue eyes.  They concur that it says a lot about the sense of entitlement that most of the capitol rioters felt on that fateful day.

Rick Sanchez welcomes back Dr. Chris Nowinski, a neuroscientist specializing in concussions and head trauma, in this special bonus episode of Rick Sanchez News after the devastating injury suffered by Miami Dolphins quarterback Tua Tagovailoa Thursday night.  Dr. Nowinski was a guest on the previous episode recorded just hours before the game and proclaimed unequivocally that Tagovailoa should not play in the game because he had obviously suffered a concussion during a game just 4 days earlier.  Sanchez asks all the important questions:  Why did the NFL allow him to play?  Why did the Miami Dolphins organization not classify the first injury as a concussion?  Who will be held accountable for this?  And why did no one in the media take a stand and report the obvious to help protect this young man?

Rick Sanchez welcomes show producer Scotty Mednick to discuss the news media’s erratic coverage of Hurricane Ian.  Sanchez and Mednick question why the news media kept spreading fear and panic in Florida cities that were not in the storm’s path.  Sanchez then switches gears and welcomes Attorney Bob Fitzsimmons and Doctor Chris Nowinski, renowned concussion experts, to discuss the inefficient and flawed concussion protocols that exist in the NFL today and the danger that poses for the athletes involved.  Sanchez used the example of Miami Dolphins quarterback Tua Tagovailoa who suffered a concussion on a Sunday and was now being allowed to play on a Thursday.  Sadly, Doctor Nowinski’s prediction of a tragic re-injury came true.

Rick Sanchez recently attended and was invited to speak at the L’ATTITUDE conference in San Diego for Latino business professionals where he made many new contacts, including his guest for this episode.  Orlando Salazar is a successful cattle rancher from Texas that has just recently launched Voz Media, a Spanish-language news content provider that targets conservative Latino listeners.  Sanchez and Salazar conclude that whether you are a conservative or a progressive Latino, the facts remain the same; Latinos are proud Americans who simply want the opportunity to work for their futures, they are not respected by either party and need to do a better job of promoting themselves in order to be heard.

Rick Sanchez welcomes global media communications executive Sol Trujillo and they discuss a variety of topics including Trujillo’s inspiration and reasons for creating L’ATTITUDE, a business-based initiative that celebrates the contributions of Latinos in business, media, politics, science, and technology.  Sanchez and Trujillo state the facts about the 5th largest GDP in the world, like the fact that they were on the front lines during the COVID pandemic and are the largest represented group that we have in the US military today.  Latinos in the US represent an economic force that any corporation would be remiss in ignoring and should be cultivated and allowed to grow even more.  Latinos are the last cohort that still believes in the American dream and they should be allowed the opportunity to achieve it.
