I sat down with my good friend Brianna Collins to discuss her creative process as a dancer, actress, and choreographer. Connect with her on Instagram and at  www.greenleafstudio.org

Brianna Collins began her dance career at the age of 7 at Greenleaf Performing Arts Academy, where she instantly fell in love with movement and made the decision to never stop dancing. She graduated from Störling’s Artist Development Program, where she trained for two years under Mona Storling-Enna, Hannah Anderson, Courtney Bourman, Marc Wayne, Suzanne Ryan-Strati, and others. She has worked with choreographers Rosie Herrera, Catherine Meredith, and Victoria Marks through New Dance Partners at the Midwest Trust Center. She has enjoyed choreographed many musical theatre productions and her choreography has been performed throughout the Kansas City Area and in Germany. Brianna has been teaching ballet, jazz, contemporary, tap, pointe, and modern techniques for the past 10 years, and loves every second of it. She is currently in her fourth season of dancing professionally with Störling Dance Theater in Olathe, KS and is the Artistic Director of Greenleaf Performing Arts Academy. Brianna believes that dance is one of the most full expressions of humanity and worship when pursued with a holistic mindset. She is passionate about impacting culture and creating community through the arts, and is anticipating a lifetime of exploring that mission.

When historians write about the early 2000s, there are going to be entire books devoted to musicians and artists. More than ever before, we're seeing young people, both inside and outside the Church, passionately throwing themselves into creative pursuits, specifically into music.  This generation is acutely aware of the power of music, and they’re not just listening to it. They’re making it.

"Justin, your idea is foolish and you are in way over your head."

I had barely begun sharing my vision when this man began to mockingly laugh at how my creative idea was foolish.

How do you handle your heart when you are mocked for dreaming big?

Where is the line of faith without works is dead vs living a life of wisdom?

I am currently in production for my next film, Between Two Worlds. In today's episode, I share about a fundraising meeting that did not go well and what I learned from it.

Justin discusses the song "I Remember" from his From Patmos musical.

Tickets for the March 18th Worldwide Premiere are on sale now: www.frompatmosfilm.com

The original musical becomes a stage film featuring Michael Maher as the Apostle John — the man who knew Jesus best during His life on earth. The show features a series of flashbacks from the Island of Patmos detailing John’s transformation from a young man with a thunderous but unfocused passion to an unmovable, unshakable Apostle of single-minded devotion. It is through the memories of this one man that the future of all mankind is revealed. Justin Rizzo’s musical storytelling debut includes a moving score of 19 original songs and a script co-written by the powerhouse tandem of Alice Larson Scott and Kelsey White. Step into the tragedy, adventure, and passion of John's story and find your own story of the taming and refining of the human heart that happens only through relationship with the God who walked among us.
