The first step in solving a problem is to recognize that you have one. We are fortunate we now have a Commander-in-Chief and Secretary of Defense who fully see the problems caused by wokeism in all its forms in our armed forces. The distractions of these unnecessary policies harm readiness, recruiting, and the overall ability of our nation to defeat our enemies in war. We have many enemies. We need a DOD focused only on how to strengthen defense systems with the right strategies and with the best people, regardless of the color of their skin or any other difference. Warfighting lethality that deters wars, that is the mission, and we now have a team focused on developing the strategy and policies necessary to achieve that. But DOD is the most massive organization and it will take time and extreme determination to find and eliminate every woke policy and the individuals resisting the changes. The Medical Freedom Movement scored huge victories leading up to this month’s settlement from the initial injunction stopping the vax mandate in 2021 through this one in 2023, when a federal court sided with 8,500 federal employees in their suit against the Biden administration's unconstitutional vax mandate! But that wasn’t the end of the fight, the case kept going, and the breaking news is that the DOJ was forced to settle with Feds for Freedom just last week. The results of the settlement are the big story today! We have the Executive Director of Feds for Freedom with us right now, and one of the co-founders Jim Erdman (a US Army Veteran) later in the show, to discuss the case, what the settlement does, and what it means for the future of the federal employees they represent and of medical mandates! Liberals are devolving into a fit of hysteria over Secretary of Defense Pete Hegseth’s decision to re-install a memorial known as the “Reconciliation Monument” in Arlington National Cemetery that was removed in 2023. But that narrative misses the point and risks erasing a critical moment in our nation’s past. Restoring the Reconciliation Monument isn’t about romanticizing the Confederacy – it’s about preserving a complex chapter of American history, fostering true national unity, and rejecting the impulse to sanitize our story. Far from wrong, this move is a principled stand against historical amnesia. Erected in 1914, the Reconciliation Monument was commissioned as a deliberate symbol of healing after the Civil War. President William Howard Taft approved its placement in Arlington, where nearly 500 Confederate soldiers, sailors, and civilians are buried in Section 16. Its designer, Moses Jacob Ezekiel, a Jewish Confederate veteran, intended it to represent the reunification of a divided nation. The frieze depicts scenes of Southern life, including Black figures, which detractors interpret as glorifying slavery. My guest today is one of the litigants who took Secretary of Defense Loyd Austin to court to first stop and now restore the monument. Retired U.S. Army LtCol Ed Kennedy, Jr. enlisted in the Army in 1971 as an infantryman. He graduated from the United States Military Academy in 1976, retiring in 1997. As an infantry officer, he held a variety of command and staff positions, ending his active-duty career as an assistant professor in the history department of the US Army Command and General Staff College.

The confirmation that the Intelligence Community Assessment establishing Russian Collusion narrative was directed by Barak Obama and intentionally painted a false story doesn’t really surprise the average American. But the interesting thing we’re seeing are John Brennan and James Clapper doubling down on their lies, with the media supporting them and ignoring the facts. It is as if they think they still have enough control of the vast 4th branch of government in our country that they are invulnerable to any attempts to hold them truly accountable. And that is a dangerous situation for all of us in the near term, but especially for the future of the Republic. We must get control of institutions in the intelligence community, primarily the CIA and the FBI to get the unelected resistors operating the Federal government under the control of the elected President but is it possible? In late July, former Trump National Security Advisor Lt Gen Mike Flynn, the Chairman of the Gold Institute for International Strategy held a two-day meeting to develop a new proposed national security strategy. In his opening letter of the draft document, he writes “ My fellow Americans, the United States now confronts a threat of unprecedented character, scope, and immediacy. In an earlier era, President John F. Kennedy described a long twilight struggle between freedom and authoritarianism, between democratic self-government and centralized control. That contest, once defined by geopolitical confrontation abroad, has entered a new and more insidious phase. Today, the principal strain on the American Republic arises not from foreign shores, but from within our borders.” And appropriately the document itself states “The purpose of this National Security Strategy is to identify three strategically significant but neglected threats and opportunities that directly impact U.S. national security long-term. The first is an “uncomfortable truth” for much of official Washington. America’s authoritarian adversaries have infiltrated and subverted from within every key American government agency and institution. This is not a new phenomenon, but the current depth, breadth, and ferocity of such is unprecedented.” My guest today attended the conference and is here to discuss some of the challenges America faces in this crucial period.
