Today on the show, I bring you the conversation I had with Adam Weinstein and Will McHenry where I was recording the call to test out how I was going to pull off doing this whole podcast thing. Enjoy!
Got a question? We'd love to hear from you!
Today on the show I speak with Eric Grabow. Eric is the bass player in the award winning Modern Americana rock band, The Muddy Crows. For the shortest of whiles, he was also the bassist in my band the Very Small. This is, of course, how our paths crossed. Eric and I sit down to talk about his adventures as a musician, playing in front of 10,000 people, touring in Europe, enduring the loss of live, in-person performances during the pandemic, the music industry in general, and much more.

Today I sit down with the owner of Mixtape Studios, Jarrett Nicolay. Jarrett is a hometown hero of the DMV music scene, most notably for playing bass in the Alexandria based rock band, Virginia Coalition. He also records under the moniker My New Mixtape, and has self produced and released three full length albums to date. Jarrett's songwriting has been featured in indie films including 2016 Sundance favorite “I Don’t Feel At Home In This World Anymore”. It was so satisfying to get his take on working as an audio engineer, teaching students, the songwriting process, forecasts about what the live music scene could feel like in a post-covid world, and much more.

Sorry I'm late everybody.
What if I recorded a conversation I had with my wife when it was way too late, and the subject matter is serious and complex? This is that conversation. You're a real trooper if you make it through this one.

Today on the show I sit down with Joe Ramienski. Joe has been teaching children since nineteen dickety seven. We had to say "dickety" cause the Kaiser had stolen our word "twenty".
Joe has been teaching Physical Education for eight years, and has been a teacher for a total of fourteen years (5th, 2nd, and 3rd grade - teaching ALL the subjects!) I had him on the show to talk about the experience of online schooling as well as the transition back, returning to in-person instruction, or rather, returning to a hybrid model.
We go into that territory and much, much more (since we both have ADHD).
Enjoy!

Holy shit this episode is going up much later than planned. Therefore, all you get in the show notes is hugs and kisses.
Love to all and see you next week!

Today on the show, Molly Scanlon invites friends from hike school (Will McHenry, Adam Weinstein, Jess Schutz, and Joe Ramienski) to participate in a discussion on sex, gender norms, and beliefs about how to behave and what to expect when coming of age in the 90s and early aughts.
The conversation gets super interesting and you're invited to be a fly on the wall with us.
Enjoy!
References - can't remember if these were referenced in part 1 or part 2, so they're being included in both :)

Ok, this is the follow up in what retrospectively looks like part 2 of a two part 2-parter. As promised, I take you on a journey of what some of my answers are to the 100th birthday party thought experiment. I also ramble about outdoor children's concerts, the beginning of a new musical collaboration set up, how I learned to take a compliment, and more.
Ah, mindfulness...is there anything it can't do?

Uh oh... he's getting experimental again. Yes, today's episode is going to be a little different than all other episodes, in that, typically I'm joined by a guest; But every now and then I have solo shows. Up until this point, these solo shows have been the neurotic musings of a - technically speaking - healthy mind. Well, that's all about to change, dear listeners. Strap in for the first, but certainly not the last, guided meditation.
I listen to guided meditations daily, and have been for years now. There is a reason why this one rises above the rest and deserves being spotlighted on the show.

Today on the show I sit down with Adam Weinstein. Adam and I go way back. We played on a t-ball team together, went to high school together, and have a unique pathway to the friendship we now both enjoy. We talk about DnD, the business of sales, and most importantly, the nature of bullying.
This episode asks you, the listener to consider what role(s) in the bullying scenario you played when you were growing up:
Perhaps you work in a setting where bullying has happened, is happening, or is likely to happen. There is no doubt in my mind that you have an important take on this issue. You are invited to share as much or as little as you'd like. This won't be the last time I talk about this issue on the show. For now, sit back, and enjoy the show.
