  • Friday Faith Foundations - Are you an example to follow?
As parents, business owners, friends, community members, and humans we are called to be an example of Christ. Are you an example to follow? It's so hard to follow Jesus' example, but that's what we are called to do. Scripture provides the guidance and inspiration we need. When we live by the fruits of the Spirit we are an example of Jesus and we bring Glory to God. What Scripture says about being an example to follow In John 14:12, Jesus tells us: "Very truly I tell you, whoever believes in me will do the works I have been doing, and they will do even greater things than these because I am going to the Father." When Jesus said this, he was commanding the disciples to go out and spread the gospel. We are called to do the same thing today, in all we do. God doesn't expect us to do this on our own. In reality, we aren't capable of doing it on our own. That is why He gave us the power of the Holy Spirit. Sharing the gospel doesn't mean that we have to go out and preach it. We can be an example to follow, an example of Jesus, by how we behave, what we say, and the choices we make. For example, to do the next right thing instead of letting temptation overcome us. For instance, the grocery store clerk drops the grapes you very carefully selected. You have a choice. You can get angry and scold the weary soul that she is, or you can choose to graciously accept her apology, smile, and say no problem, I'll go grab more. This may be a pain. It may cause you to run late for your next appointment, but you will have been an example of Jesus. And next time she's in the same situation or the other people in line are, they'll follow your example. Not sure how you can be an example of Jesus? In Galatians 5:22-23 Paul teaches us about the fruit of The Spirit, which is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, and self-control. He goes on to say, "Against such things, there is no law." In the example of the grocery store clerk, if you chose the next right thing you displayed each fruit of the Spirit. See how easy it can be to be an example to follow, to be an example of Jesus? The Holy Spirit is on duty 24/7 to guide you and fill you with His gifts. That feeling in your gut that guides you on the next best step to take, is your intuition, the Holy Spirit. Be an example to follow and don't take the job lightly In 2 Corinthians 5:20 Paul writes, "We are therefore Christ's ambassadors, as though God were making His appeal through us. • When you believe, you succeed! - with Judy Weber
Who do you believe you are? What you believe about yourself determines the decisions you make and the results you achieve. When you believe, you succeed. Who you believe yourself to be is a factor in the amount of success you'll have. If you don't believe in yourself you won't take the steps necessary to grow and become. You must know who you are if you want to succeed. As Christian business owners, Christ empowers you to do big things and to have a big impact. Making decisions like a CEO As small business owners, you are the CEO of your business. The more you believe in yourself, the better your decisions will be. A very significant decision you need to make is what is your best offer for your best client. Many times we as women labor over decisions, questioning the what-ifs. Therefore it's important to learn to evaluate, to think in terms of your best client, and to make decisions without overthinking them. Quite often, indecision is what holds you back. You have to believe in yourself, in God's purpose for you, and in your soulmate clients, that they need you. Indecision is a decision. Don't be double-minded. No is the default for not making a decision. Making a decision is not a one-step process. If you make a decision but then things don't happen fast enough, for example selling a new offer, then you change your mind. Making a decision is a two-part process. The first step is making a choice. Secondly, you must make a commitment to your choice. Three key steps to grow a successful business: Belief in yourself, your purpose, what God can do in your life, and in your soulmate clients Making decisions, sticking to the decisions, not wavering on your decisions when you don't sell quickly Build a foundation for your business, before relying on social media, by differentiating yourself from all others in your niche Evaluate your decisions by mapping them out. Pen to paper is very powerful. Create a strategy for making decisions. But, don't stop there, stay committed to the decisions. Your brain knows so much. Take what's in it and put it on paper so that you can capture and visualize it. When you believe, you succeed. You must believe in who you are and whose you are (a child of God), and you will be more confident in the decisions you make. In addition, your belief in your purpose and your soulmates is important for ultimate growth and success. Read the full show notes and access all links. • Friday Faith Foundations - Are you a control freak?
It's time to let go of control and let God. Do you feel the need to control your life and situations? If yes, it's time to let go of control and let God. Say adios to being a control freak. That feels really hard and really ugly, doesn't it? Oh, how I know it. What is the control freak? Here's the simple answer. The control freak is that inner voice that says: Wait, it's not perfect yet I have to do everything No, I have to do it or it won't be right I better learn more first No one else will ever be able to do this the way I do it I'll just wait until I know it will work What if you mess this up I have to do it this way or it won't work There are more phrases the control freak says, but the point is, that the control freak is a critic. She is very closely related to the perfectionist, maybe even her identical twin. And thinks she needs to control every situation to ensure everything goes the way she thinks it should. The result? Continuously living with doubt, fear, overthinking, and procrastination. In addition, you feel exhausted because you're always on duty, doing it all. So you think. But in reality, others offer to help you, but you don't trust they will do it right, or good enough. Your thoughts aren't always the best thoughts Isaiah 55:9 says, "As the heavens are higher than the earth, so are my ways higher than your ways and my thoughts than your thoughts." Here's the thing about our thoughts. They are human. As humans, we are distracted. Distracted by secular influences and let's face it, the devil himself. So when we find ourselves trying to control a situation, person, or outcome, we need to quiet our inner control freak and turn to God. Most of the time we don't know what we don't know. And we aren't meant to build our lives and businesses alone. We need God to equip us. The gifts of the Spirit (wisdom, understanding, counsel, fortitude, knowledge, piety, and fear of the Lord) awaken us to the next best action steps to take to grow. And we need people around us to help us. Or, we will experience burnout. The control freak isn't perfect There's a misconception our control freak has, that she is perfect, and if she maintains control of everything, everything will work out in her favor. The driving force for seeking control is the need to be perfect so others will be impressed. Yes, there are times when we need to impress ourselves, but this would be called pride. And we are not to be proud, but humble. Being successful and living a good life isn't about bragging rights. We are reminded of this in James 4:6, "But he gives us more grace. That is why Scripture says: "God opposes the proud but shows favor to the humble." Read the full show notes and access all links.

  • Strategies to navigate anxiety to be healthier and happier with Melanie Wilson
Whether it's you or someone you know and care about who has anxiety, it is imperative to navigate it. When you employ strategies to navigate anxiety, you and your loved ones will be able to enjoy life, see the blessings you have, and enjoy the life you have. The overthinking hurts "Are you busy being busy? Do people come to you for everything because they know you will find a way? Does your mind race at night with thoughts you cannot control as soon as your head hits the pillow? How many hours do you spend ruminating on your actions and words to see if you sounded stupid, offended someone, or said something you can't take back? When you look at your phone, are you overthinking why they have not responded or why they responded the way they did?" Childhood experiences can lead to significant mental health challenges Melanie had several experiences during her formative years that resulted in significant mental health challenges. Some of the experiences resulted in her believing that she needed to be silent. Therefore she never had the opportunity to express her thoughts and feelings. She held them all in which resulted in more mental health challenges. When Melanie sought help for anxiety she was given medication and sent on her way. Melanie discovered that when she mixed medications, she felt that her mind was quieted and that she now had a sense of control intrinsically that she never had extrinsically. The result was an opioid addiction. Satan wants us to stay ended, to say submerged in hurt, pain, and suffering. In that space is where resentment, humiliation, frustration, and embarrassment consume you. The wounds are spiritual, mental, and emotional, but also become physical. And when the physical body isn't functioning, we can't carry out our calling and walk in our purpose. Satan is so sneaky that he has us convinced that God wouldn't create us with all of the beautiful gifts He's given us. When Melanie surrendered everything at Jesus' feet, she finally had a glimmer of hope. Take ownership of your responsibility to equip them to be able to help you. The truth about mental health Your mental health will influence so many aspects of your life, overall health, relationships, happiness levels, and success. • Pursue Success God's Way with Erin Harrigan
Let's face it, as business owners, it's easy to get sucked into the hustle mentality. But it's not always the healthiest way to grow your business. So what can you do to alleviate hustle to grow your business and pursue success God's way? Step one for growing your business without unhealthy hustle, is to pursue success God's way. The questions that changed Erin's life You don't know who you are and whose you are? And do you know Jesus? These are the questions that a friend asked Erin when she expressed her lack of fulfillment in her career. All the money and success wasn't making her happy. She felt empty. Having been surrounded by New Age thinkers, Erin hadn't had a relationship with Jesus. But after this conversation, Erin committed her life to Christ. Now Erin emulates Christ in her business and teaches others to do the same. There is peace when you don't have to be self-reliant When you invite God into your business and let Him guide you, you can experience peace. And you can let the hustlego. Social media can result in you looking in multiple directions, creating chaos, or causing confusion. Confusion on what to do next, and pursuing success without God, will result in more hustle. Comparison and imposter syndrome result in hustle. Instead, you can pursue success God's way, and if it feels better, grow your business without social media. Money Mindset It's never how much money you make, it's how much money you spend. We are called to be good stewards of our money, first and foremost. With this recognition, you can discover how much money you need to bring in for your family. And, not be afraid of what that number is. Another important question to ask is how much money does God want you to make? And then not shaming yourself if you don't make the same amount of money as what you are seeing other people online making. Read the full show notes and access all links. • Friday Faith Foundations - There will always be hope if you believe
Hope by definition is a confident expectation that something (or someone) good will be part of your future. What have you been hoping for? Maybe your biggest hopes and dreams have not come to fruition, yet. But it's important to remember that there will always be hope if you believe. A story about hope As you may know, I launched the Success Without Social Media Mastermind last week. To say it didn't go as planned is an understatement. I felt a lack of hope for my business and the offer I thought was going to be well received. I wanted to be angry and sad. For a moment or two, I even told God how upset I was that He hadn't made the launch a success. After all, I'd done everything I knew to do to market it and I'd prayed for his blessing upon it. Instead of staying mad at God, I decided to dive into scripture and see what He had to say about the experience. Every verse I read for the next two days was about strength, hope, and perseverance. I wanted to give up but he was emphatically telling me not to. Upon journaling about what I'd read and heard from Him, I discovered a few things. I am sharing this experience with you because I think it's super important to be real and share that not everything goes the way we want it to. What I learned about hope I've always been someone who hopes a lot and believes that absolutely anything is possible with God. Philippians 4:13 has been on repeat in my mind for years - "I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me". Likewise, In Mark 10:27 we are reminded by Jesus that "With man, this is impossible, but not with God; all things are possible with God." These two verses remind us that there will always be hope if you believe. But here's the reality. Just because we want something, doesn't mean that is what is best for us or what God has planned for us. It doesn't mean there is no longer hope, it means that what I was hoping for wasn't the right thing for me (or you) at this time. And often, God uses experiences like this to teach us a lesson. I was indeed in need of a lesson last week. By diving into scripture and listening to what God had to say, I realized that I was following the recommendations of humans, not God. I was depending on what my coaches had told me, not on what my intuition and God were telling me. Doing what my coaches have been doing and teaching me about isn't aligned with me or the purpose God has for me - right now. In addition, I wasn't trusting Him, I was trying to control what happened in my business instead of letting Him guide me. If my launch had been a huge success I would have proven I, like all the big-wig coaches online, could have a six-figure launch. But that isn't me. It isn't my priority. And it also wasn't what God was calling me to do. Read the full show notes and access all links. • From New Age to Jesus
From the New-Age to Jesus-centered. The coaching industry is very aligned with new-age philosophies, manifestation, and the universe, instead of focusing on scripture and bringing Glory to God. A triumphant and emotional story of going from the New Age to Jesus. New-age philosophies and idolatry have been around forever. The Old Testament is full of stories of people worshiping idols. We are told over and over again, with the commandments and again by Jesus in the New Testament that we are to have no other God's before Him. New age philosophies are appealing to spiritual seekers because they mascarade as love and light. These beliefs appear harmless and feel good because they take away any restrictions on life. Satan uses these New Age things such as astrology, crystals, tarot cards, etc. to distract you. He desires to lead you away from Christ and into believing all of the answers lie within these earthly things. Deception is real As humans, we all want a quick fix, comfort, convenience, etc. However, God has called us to work for His glory. He doesn't promise everything will be easy and smooth sailing. He tells us in scripture that in this life there will be trouble, but not to fear because He has overcome the world (Satan). Doubt and fear may cause us to avoid doing the work necessary to grow as individuals and to grow our businesses. This may also come into play with forgiving others. But God has called us to forgive just as He has forgiven and if we do so, He will forgive us. The lies of the New Age beliefs When you are in the New Age, you think that bad things aren't going to happen to you. It takes time to realize that the law of attraction doesn't shield you from bad things. You may actually get something through the law of attraction, but then it disappears, it isn't lasting. Tara shared that she believes that many times people find it difficult to trust God because they have father wounds. They didn't have an earthly father that loved them and that they could trust, therefore they don't trust God as the Heavenly Father. Read the full show notes and access all links. • Friday Faith Foundations - You are Worthy
Have you ever questioned your worth? Maybe things weren't going your way, you wondered if things would ever turn around, or maybe you've had bad experiences and feel shame. As a result, you don't feel worthy of love, grace, acceptance, success, etc. I want to assure you that you are worthy! Worthy of love, grace, acceptance, success, and more. You are worthy because God created you Genesis 1:27 reads God created mankind in His own image, in the image of God he created them; male and female, he created them. If He created us in His image, how can we doubt that we are worthy of His love? Combine the concept that we were created in God's image with Luke 12:7, which reads "In fact, even the hairs on your head are all numbered. Do not be afraid; you are more valuable than many sparrows." God knows us intimately, better than anyone else, he made us who we are. He knows everything about us and still loves us. Sparrows may be small, but He loves them, He loves everything He created and treasures them. Think how beautiful even the tiniest feather is. He created us each to be His masterpiece.
