  • Stop letting the superhuman paradox hold you back with Beate Chelette
Are you a woman who wants it all? Start by avoiding the Superhuman Paradox - it's holding you back. Beate is the author of Happy Woman Happy World in which she shares what she has uncovered about women in the workplace. Her phrases the superhuman paradox and ego rhythm describe what happens when women aren't content and strive to be more than they are called to be. Beate shared that quite often, women are actually hurting each other versus them being hurt by men. Comparison and competition bring them down. Robyn emphasized that competition is necessary in the marketplace for people to strive to be better. In addition, if you are confident in yourself and your business, you will choose to differentiate yourself to be recognized as the go-to for your soulmate clients. There is enough work to go around and there is no reason to cut others down to try to build yourself up. When we compare ourselves, we then think we have to do more to be better than others. This is where Beate's concept of ego rhythm comes into play. Superhuman paradox The concept of superhuman paradox is that we want to be what someone else is. And you think that you come up short in comparison. But the reality is, that we all have unique gifts and talents. Women specifically have a tendency to feel like they are complete failures because they don't equate to everyone around them. Ego rhythm was created to help women understand that there are waves and seasons for life. As individuals, we have our own rhythms as our lives move through seasons - for example, the way parenting shifts as our children grow. Therefore, we need to focus on the rhythm of each season. In total there are 9 ego rhythms from motherhood, to tragedy, to love and you get to figure out where you are right now and make that rhythm the main focus. Robyn emphasized that the ego rhythm is similar to contentment. The more content we are instead of comparing our lives with others the more we will enjoy it more. Discontent is often stimulated by social media. Despite the fact that most people are only showing highlight reels of their life and business, we get sucked into comparing ourselves with them. Another reason to grow your business without social media. The internet trap of social media Internet marketing is the biggest contributing factor to the superhuman paradox. Instead of looking outward, look inward at what makes you unique and the gifts and talents God has given you and you've been called to use. When you are constantly searching outside, consuming content, you are constantly seeing what you don't have instead of focusing on what you do have. This is the real reason aren't getting results. Social media makes you want things without a plan. The best way to build a business is to create the plan and foundation first. Be clear on the consequences of the path and business model you choose because it will impact your quality of life. Stop creating unnecessary complexity. You can simplify your business and reduce complexity. Instead of always being in masculine energy, striving to be more by doing more, recognize that there is a place for femininity, softer energy, heart-centered energy, and consciousness. • Friday Faith Foundations - You can't do it all, so where do you seek help?
As humans, and as small business owners, we are incapable of doing it all and doing it all well. We need help and support. You can't do it all and do it all well. It's not possible. You will start overthinking, become frustrated, and maybe even resentful, and unhappy. Your productivity will drop and the frustration cycle will continue. You can't do it all but God can David experienced great trouble, a lot of which he brought on himself because of the decisions he made. We can probably say the same thing about our businesses and how our choices result in having to backtrack or experience a lack of results. Maybe it's a lack of mindset work that causes us to remain stuck in a rut. Or, maybe it's a lack of action. It could be that we haven't implemented the strategies needed to be able to be found by our soulmate clients – those who genuinely need us, and only us, to provide the solution they are looking for. No matter the challenge, the frustration, the difficulty, or the obstacle you are facing, there is always someone to go to. You can of course hire help – team members, coaches, therapists, doctors, etc. There is never anything wrong with any of those. However, there is one source that is free and can provide more insight and relief than any human you could hire. God. Verses 4 to 7 of Psalm 34, an acrostic poem written by David, reads: 4 I sought the Lord, and he answered me; he delivered me from all my fears. 5 Those who look to him are radiant; their faces are never covered with shame. 6 This poor man called, and the Lord heard him; he saved him out of all his troubles. 7 The angel of the Lord encamps around those who fear him, and he delivers them. You can't do it all but you are never alone Here's the thing with God. He will never leave you nor forsake you (Hebrews 13:5 and Deuteronomy 31:6). You can trust that He will answer your prayers, in His timing, which is perfect and limitless. You may need patience, but you can ask Him anything. He wants to hear from you. Sure, He knows your needs and your desires, but He wants to hear from you. The next time you find yourself feeling overwhelmed, overthinking, frustrated, or exhausted while trying to do it all – family, business, life – you know who to seek. The one and only who will never leave your side and will always provide for you. Reflect on Psalm 34 and feel the comfort of knowing that the angel of the Lord encamps around you. God will deliver you from the stress and provide the answers you need. Just ask Him. You can't do it all because you don't know it all And remember. If you are struggling with creating and implementing business growth strategies, I'm here for you. When you are scrolling on social media because you've been told you have to be on it to grow your business, stop. Put the phone down. And remember, you can grow your business without social media and I would love to teach you SEO strategies and other off-social strategies that will help you grow your business with simplicity and without all of the additional, unnecessary chaos. Your content will be determined by these three things. Are you ready to create a small business marketing strategy that will convert potential clients to paying clients? What needs to be at the core of your small business marketing strategy? Marketing is not linear, and you need to decide what works for you. As a result, Nicky created the 360-degree marketing program. Her method has 9 modules, but all nine do not apply to everyone. Individuals should choose three of the 9 for their marketing strategy, the three that work best for them. And note, these are essentials of marketing, not fluffy tactics. • Friday Faith Foundations - Why you need to stop comparing yourself
Have you experienced comparison? Comparison comes in several forms: comparing yourself to others, others comparing themselves to you, or others comparing you to others. You don't have control over what other people do, but you can stop comparing yourself with others. Comparing yourself to others is a dangerous way to determine your success. It is a distraction from the focus God has called you for and it will take you to a place of negative, disparaging thoughts. Since we know that our thoughts influence our emotions and feelings and our emotions and feelings influence our choices and behaviors which determine our results, it's imperative to avoid any activity that may trigger negative thoughts. Here's what Scripture has to say about comparison Galatians 6:4 Romans 12:6-8 1 Corinthians 12:22-25 2 Corinthians 10:12-13 Read the full show notes for scripture verses and links to additional resources. • You Need Intimacy to Succeed with Dr. April Brown
The connection between relationships, intimacy, and business is stronger than you think. Your relationships and your level of intimacy with yourself, others, and God influence your business growth. Relationships and intimacy influence business growth. Of course, you can think of relationship marketing, but your personal relationships and level of intimacy with yourself, your spouse, and even with God are also important. You need intimacy to succeed in life and business. Intimacy begins with being present Social media is one of the distractions that keep you from being present. We need personal connection and intimacy and trying to emulate everything and everyone you see online distracts from focusing on being present and building connection. As a business owner, it's easy to compare yourself with other entrepreneurs, but it's so much better to support one another, hold each other up, and build relationships with like-minded people. Take a step back and not look at what other people are doing and concentrate on what God is calling you to do. Get intimate with the Holy Spirit and listen to what he's telling you to do for the next right step. Improving intimacy with God To be truly intimate is also to listen. Don't just pray, tell God your problems, ask Him for things, but then listen. Dr. Brown emphasized that it's also important to ask God who we are, who he wants us to be, and how we should use the gifts he's given us. If you think about it, you need intimacy to succeed not only sexual intimacy. You need intimacy with God. To be in a relationship with Jesus to communicate with Him and listen for Him. Intimacy with self Another way you need intimacy to succeed is through self-acceptance. You need an intimate relationship with yourself to accept yourself, to love yourself, to respect yourself, and to be kind to yourself. In addition, all of your relationships will begin with your relationship with yourself. You should never say anything bad about yourself because you have to live with yourself for the rest of your life. The world may talk about you but don't talk negatively about yourself. The Bible says that we are to love our neighbor as ourselves. Truly love yourself because people will treat you the way you treat yourself. Even Jesus took time for himself. As a business owner, it's important for you to as well. When you rest, you will have more energy to build intimate connections. Intimate connection with your spouse, your kids, and others requires you to have good self-intimacy and to know yourself and your boundaries. • Friday Faith Foundations - Do You Believe There Is Always A Way With God?
Do you ever feel like you can't figure things out? Maybe things seem too hard. Or, maybe you believe you've tried every possible angle and still haven't found the solution you need or the results you want. Oh, how I've experienced this. And what I've learned, is that with God there is always a way. Not on my own accord, but through faith. With God, there is always a way I listened to a sermon by Pastor Steven Furtick of Elevation Church the other day. One of the messages he emphasized was this: With God, there is always a way, and by faith, I will find it. Perhaps you need this reminder too, and if not, I'm sure you know someone who does. I needed to be reminded of this - right now - at this point in my journey. And I thought maybe you did too. My efforts may not be as eloquent as Pastor Frutick's, but inspiration is inspiration, especially for small business owners as we approach the end of the year. He makes known the path Psalm 16:11 reads: "You make known to me the path of life; you will fill me with joy in your presence, with eternal pleasures at your right hand." Before we even begin our journey, God has a path for us. Each step may come with its own challenges, but with Him alongside us, there is always a way to move forward. He guides us with scripture, but also through earthly opportunities to learn and experience the support you need. If you are struggling to find a way to navigate your challenges, find a community of like-minded people who know and trust that God is working in them, and in you. You may find a community locally or online in the form of a networking group, a Bible study group, a book club, or a business mastermind. No matter the direction you go Isaiah 30:21 is a reminder that "whether you turn to the right or to the left, your ears will hear a voice behind you, saying, "This is the way; walk in it." There is always a way when we listen to that voice, the Holy Spirit, guiding us. But, we have to believe in Him with a conviction that overpowers any doubt Satan tries to convince us of. • Use Photos to Improve SEO Strategy
Have you ever wondered how to use photos (images) on your website to improve your SEO strategy? Chances are, no. But photos can improve SEO when you use them correctly. Here's how. You can and should use photos to improve SEO strategy. Don't let SEO scare you. Using images to improve SEO strategy is relatively simple and can make a big difference in the ability of your soulmate clients to find you. I realize SEO may not be sexy, but it is powerful and can be simplified. SEO is the best and easiest way to achieve long-term success and to grow your business without social media. Note: Within this post, I use the words photos and images interchangeably. In addition, please refer to Episode 37 for additional details on using images to improve SEO strategy. What photos to use in your SEO strategy Start with a professional photo of yourself on your home page and about page. People buy personality, not products and services. Let people who come to your site immediately see who you are - your eyes and smile are the gateway to an emotional connection. Your visual presence is key to building your personal brand. In addition, include images of you working with clients, behind-the-scenes activities, customized stock photos of your computer, office space, etc. If you don't have photos of your team, or of you working with clients, use stock photos. Canva is a great resource for stock photos and you don't need a pro account to use them. If possible, testimonials featured on your website should include a photo of the person who gave the testimonial. Where should you use photos on your website? As I mentioned before, you want to be visible on as many pages as possible so that people know immediately who you are. Your header or banner images are real estate to showcase yourself on every page. Every page of your website should have at least one photo. Your blogs should have a featured image which will help your website visitors readily identify what the blog is about - even if only a graphic with the title on it. Every time you write copy for a blog post, think about the keyword or keyphrase of your post and use an image that relates to that. I'll explain why. Photos are a great way to separate large blocks of copy to make your content more skimmable and improve readability. Readability influences SEO. • Friday Faith Foundations - Do you feel overwhelmed?
As small business owners, it's easy to feel overwhelmed. Never ending to-do lists and quite often, a one-person show. Growing a small business can also feel lonely if you're a solopreneur. Have you said to yourself, "I feel overwhelmed" as you walk your entrepreneurial journey? I think most solopreneurs feel overwhelmed and lonely at one point in time or another. But Psalms 25:4-5 provides comfort and hope for all of us. It reads: "Show me your ways, LORD, teach me your paths. Guide me in your truth and teach me, for you are God my Savior, and my hope is in you all day long." It is common for small business owners, especially solopreneurs to feel overwhelmed. Growing a business is challenging there's no doubt about it. The to-do lists are often long and grow much faster than they shrink. It's easy to think that you don't know where to begin. In addition, you may feel stuck and fear and doubt may hold you back, especially when a launch doesn't go well or someone says no to hiring you. And you may experience confusion because of all of the advice you see online. Or maybe you've hired multiple people to help you, or taken multiple courses, and now you don't know what to do or when to do it. It's overwhelming, and I hear that from my clients all the time. Belief and faith become very important when you are trying to grow a business Here's where faith and belief come into play. To grow a successful business you need to believe that God has a purpose for you and that there are people who will hire you, who need you to solve a problem for them. You need to believe that you have unique gifts and talents to use to help others. This is where your story and journey to get to where you are today becomes an important factor in your beliefs. Likewise, you also need to believe that your soulmate clients exist and are looking for you. That God has planted seeds in them to seek and find you.
