Following up another franchise retrospective with Mission Impossible, we now trust Ethan Hunt one last time in our review of Mission: Impossible - The Final Reckoning. Ethan Hunt and the IMF team continue their search for the terrifying AI known as the Entity - which has infiltrated intelligence networks all over the globe - with the world's governments and a mysterious ghost from Ethan's past on their trail. Joined by new allies and armed with the means to shut the Entity down for good, Hunt is in a race against time to prevent the world as we know it from changing forever. The film stars Tom Cruise, Hayley Atwell, Ving Rhames, Simon Pegg, Esai Morales, and Pom Klementieff.

After our franchise retrospective last week discussing the five previous Final Destination films, we are now reviewing the latest, Final Destination: Bloodlines, the sixth entry into the franchise. Directed by Zach Lipovsky and Adam B. Stein, the movie is described as follows: plagued by a recurring violent nightmare, a college student returns home to find the one person who can break the cycle and save her family from the horrific fate that inevitably awaits them. The film stars Kaitlyn Santa Juana, Teo Briones, Rya Kihlstedt, and Richard Harmon.

La Pecera premiered at Sundance in 2023 but was recently in limited theatrical release. The film's story is as follows: a cancer diagnosis inspires Noelia to return to her native Puerto Rico and reunite with friends and family who are dealing with industrial pollution left by the US military. We discuss the making of the film with writer and director Glorimar Marrero Sánchez who is the first director to premiere a Puerto Rican film at Sundance.
