On today's show, as we look ahead to Week 12 in the NFL kicking off with a Thanksgiving Day triple-header, it's time to start to keep tabs on the Playoff picture. At this point of the season the real contenders have made themselves known, and with the exception of a few low seed Wild Card teams, we pretty much know who will be there in the end, but there's still a lot of shuffling in the seeding to look forward to. On today's show, with the NFL season past the midway point, it's time to draw some conclusions. We've been patient, we've observed, we've deliberated, but now our sample size is sufficient so we're revisiting our preseason tiers, throwing together some power rankings and deciding how much a mid-November Vikings road win over the Bills and an Eagles loss at home to the WFT really means. On today's show, NFL Week 8 is underway, and while there's still plenty of time for underachieving teams to turn it around, the sample size is large enough for us to figure out pretty much what teams need to do to maintain their Playoff ambitions. TB12 has looked every bit of 45 years old, but in the putrid NFC South, the chances we see him in the Playoffs are still high, while Aaron Rodgers and the Packers would likely have to go 7-4 from here on out to get in, and even with the Bucs falling to 3-5, the Packers probably have the more difficult road. Meanwhile, the sample size after just over a week of NBA games is not nearly large enough to draw the same conclusions about Playoff hopes as in the NFL, so let's not worry about the Warriors, Nuggets, Sixers, Nets or Clippers, and let's not put lottery teams like the Spurs or Jazz in already. There are a few things we know for sure though, and that is that the Lakers really are bad, Ja is really great, it's so fun to watch Zion play, SGA's greatness is overlooked in OKC, Desmond Bane is making a leap, and no one in the game can make a shot like Steph Curry. These are some of the things we know, but there's still a lot to figure out, like can Kawhi last the season, will James Harden infect or inspire the Sixers, and does the T-Wolves Twin Towers make sense? On today's show, even in the middle of a roller coaster ride of an NFL season, the return of the NBA takes center stage. It started with skinny James Harden and the Sixers getting run by an even scarier Celtics team than we saw last year, then moved to the Bay for a ring ceremony and a ridiculously deep Warriors squad flexing on LeBron and the Lakers, followed by a full slate of Wednesday games that featured the returns of players such as Zion, Ben Simmons, Jamal Murray and Michael Porter Jr and after a few games Thursday, we'd seen all 30 teams in action. And then there was Paolo's debut! It all made for some highly entertaining mid-week action, but more big picture, it heralded in the annual sports eclipse, with MLB Playoffs in full swing and the NFL already approaching midseason. Speaking of the League, coming off of a Week 6 full of upsets, it's become increasingly harder to figure out who's legitimately good outside of the Bills, Chiefs and Eagles. The Packers, Bucs, Niners and Ravens are all 3-3 and have some fearing that they might not be as good as we think, the Giants and Vikings might be better than we think, and who knows what to make of the Cowboys. And now as we enter Week 7, the Niners have made a big move to bolster their offense and with the trade deadline approaching quickly, we're sure to see other contenders making moves as well. On today's show, we know the almighty NFL is undefeated, but it can be pre-empted, especially when we're talking about the return of the NBA, so in honor of opening tip-off this coming Tuesday, it's time for our final NBA preview. We've got your true contenders and your title hopefuls; we have the teams who could steal a Play-Off round or two, maybe upset a high seed but not win it all, yet; and we have the fringe Play-In teams and the lottery teams for you as well. And of course, after Steve Kerr's latest statements, we'll continue to follow up on Draymond's punch, because while I stand by my belief that its impact on the Warriors' season will be minimal, the way the national media has run with the story has made it impossible to move on from. And NFL scheduling continues to come through, giving us our two best AFC teams head to head as the Bills visit the Chiefs in the late afternoon slot, leading us right into a SNF matchup between two of the NFC's best, the Cowboys and Eagles. On today's show, of course we're gonna talk about Draymond punching Jordan Poole at Warriors practice, but we're not gonna let it detract from how everything else in the world of sports seems to be falling nicely into place. In fact, because I have so much confidence that this was an isolated incident, I'm just gonna chalk it up to a little hyper-competitiveness and leave it at that. Besides, this Warriors title defense team is loaded and tip off is just over a week away.
