In this session I really enjoyed finding out why my dear friend wanted to work with death and in the process learned so much more about funerals, green cemeteries, Lauren's desire to bring green one to Kentucky, gardening and foraging, the relationship between tripping and deathcare, and some differences between the South Pacific where I live and American funeral ways.

I have often wondered about the mystery of the LARPing community. Jack transports and enchants me as she weaves her journey from making pancakes as Darth Vader in her childhood to navigating the expanding gender fluidity of the characters she inhabits during events. There is so much amazing content in this one, I hope to have her back when she and the community reunite after all these long months apart and hear how it goes.

For this OoOo Interview I got to sit in my mother's new waterfront apartment in downtown Tāmaki Makaurau (Auckland) and explore a few aspects of her life that intrigue me. Because, unlike some interview techniques where there's a cohesive parameter or ringfence around the interview, I like to run wild and create a meadow of talking points. There is no person alive that won't find SOMETHING interesting in what we talk on. My mother got to chill with Bob Marley and the Wailers, she's a pioneer of Second Life, a big time advocate for unlimited access to great resources for education no matter where you are in the world, loves to talk about testicles in the virtual reality space, has a friend who bravely delves into America's darkest minds (extreme right wing hate groups), and without hesitance gave up all her familiarity and her house to shift to the other side of the world to the land of the long white cloud just to save her eldest child. Me. She's one of the most intrigueing women you'll ever meet. And she MY MOTHER. Tree.. Mother Tree.
