With only 2 days left for the run, in this Eposide we shall talk about medical preparedness for the race. For this we have with us Dr. Anjali Zende.
Dr. Anjali is a Consultant- Cardiac rehabilitation therapist at Hinduja Healthcare Surgical in Mumbai. She has been associated with IAAF labelled races across India since many years and is first Indian to be certified for Race Emergency Medicine. She has also authored the book titled "The Indian Medical Directors' Handbook for Marathon and Road Races.
In today's episode we shall talk about VO2 max.
VO2 simply stands for the volume of oxygen. VO2 max is The maximum amount of oxygen your body can consume per minute during peak exercise.
To help us understand this better, we have with us Dr. Rituparna Shinde who is a interventional cardiologist with a passion for lifestyle interventions. He is trained extensively in India and USA for interventional cardiology and has been practicing invasive and non invasive cardiology in Pune since 10 years. Dr. Shinde is currently associated with Aloha Lifestyle Reversal Studio.

He is the Founder of Satara Runners Foundation, which organizes the Satara Hill Half Marathon since 2012. Satara Hill Half Marathon has been featured in the Guinness Book of World Records for the most people in a single mountain run.
Dr. Kate started running for fitness in January 2012 & has finished dozens of Half Marathons, 10 Full Marathons including Athens, Gold Coast and Zurich. He has also completed 3 Ultra-marathons ( Comrades ) in South Africa. His Personal Best is 1 hour 33 minutes for Half marathon, 3 hours 36 minutes for Full Marathon and 9 hours 58 minutes for the Comrades Ultra.

Dan as you are aware is the head coach of the Nike Run Club, India, since 2008. He has completed 41 Full Marathons and 02 Ultra-marathons and was the race director for the Mumbai Ultra 12 hrs Run 2019.

She ran two world major namely the Berlin in 2017 and Chicago in 2019. She has been a podium finisher for half marathon and 10K multiple in the past 5 years for her category. She is currently training for the Comrades that is held in Africa.

He also completed Ultra Marathon twice and ran 100k at Oxfam Mumbai and 70k Tuffman in Shimla hills. He is also a 4 times Ironman Finisher and 6 times Ironman 70.3 Finisher since May 2018.
