Andy Nelson steps in as pinch hitter leading Ocean Murff and Krissy Lenz in this week's Saturday Matinée.
Now, I'm going to be honest with you here. I'm your omniscient narrator but I've been on vacation. I didn't edit this show and it's just been handed to me and needs to be published. They haven't given me time to listen to it so I have absolutely no idea what they talked about. Therefore, I'm going to take a stab at it and see what has come out of this episode.
I bet Ocean brings up Andor on Disney+. The first three episodes have dropped and they had time to watch them. If they haven't, that's entertainment podcasting malpractice. Andy watched the Wedding Banquet and gave it four stars. I bet he brings that up. But if he doesn't bring up his 1-star review of Miami Connection, I'm calling his mother. I bet Krissy goes deeply against her brand and praises a recent viewing of Pearl.
All that out of the way, here are the trailers.
THE LIST!
As for the list this week, the gang was charged with coming up with a list of films featuring: A Great Performance from Unexpected Performers... you know, performances just like Ken Jeong in The Hangover isn't.
Krissy’s List
Andy’s List
Ocean’s List
Mandy Kaplan and Kyle Olson join Pete Wright for TV, Movies, a list of great movies with terrible names, and THE DIABOLICAL.
We’re starting with a quick review of Rings of Power, which is still a thing, with a dash of She-Hulk and Suspicion, but football is back so Mandy is all-in on the gridiron.

THE LIST!
We all have personal peccadillos in our picks this week, but we end up with a list of great films with, subjectively that is, lousy names.

Ocean Murff leads Kyle Olson and Tommy Metz on a ride through matinée morning moviedom with new trailers, a game of villains, and a list of movies to dine by!
But they start with the watchlist. On deck: Scooby Do, believe it or not. Turns out, there's more to it than meets the eye. Tommy watched Elvis, which is apparently Luhrmantastic, but he's really looking forward to Barbarian. Ocean has words about Day Shift, the vampire union movie. And they have some pretty darned good things to say about the latest season of The Umbrella Academy.
THE LIST!
This week's list is a celebration of movies to dine by. What's that mean? Great question. Mostly it's movies that make us hungry. Except Hook. They just eat paste in that movie.

A fine Saturday to you all! This week on the show Pete Wright leads Kyle Olson and Ray DeLancey on a journey of grown ups liking kid things.
First things first, we're talking about two Star Trek properties: Star Trek Lower Decks, and Star Trek Prodigy. Sure, both are cartoons. Both are just plum wacky. But both also offer fuel to the overall Star Trek universe and with reports that ships and characters from at least one of these shows is making way for the next season of Strange New Worlds, we're eager to see what comes next.
Sandman is aging well on us. House of the Dragon is aging well for us so far. Does that bode well for this weekend's launch of Rings of Power over on Amazon?
The new trailer for Winnie-the-Pooh: Blood and Honey dropped this week leading to a whole lot of hand-wringing over how these beloved characters are being used now that they've fallen into the public domain.
Trailers
THE LIST!
Technically, this week's list is "Movies that are for kids that you secretly like as an adult". But we reject the premise. As three people who just spent fifteen minutes talking about how great Star Trek cartoons are, we're proudly in the pro-kids-movies camp. So we give you a selection of movies that we miss from the kids and family oeuvre.

Mandy Kaplan leads Krissy Lenz and Tommy Metz in a tour of Wrexham and a glorious celebration of CatDaddies, plus a list of movies in schools!
Along the way, we have a bit of catch-up on Sandman, Blackbird, ... wait, who cares about all that? Krissy is watching Original Recipe Law & Order! Ok, Tommy made good on his trailer pick last week by heading out to the theater and seeing Fall, which was fair and terrifying. Mandy watched She-Hulk. Any bets on what she thought? Quick... before you listen. Post it Discord. We're watching you so don't cheat. Plus, Bad Sisters because sisters gotta fight.

THE LIST!
Last week, two-thirds of the crew was made up by two-thirds of this week's crew, which happened to toss forward a softball in the form of favorite movies that take place in schools!
Krissy's List
Tommy's List
Mandy's List
Pete Wright, Mandy Kaplan, and Tommy Metz are back with big screen and small screen takes, a blockbuster round of the movie game, terrorizing trailers, and a list of much-panned movies that we love anyway!
First things first, Tommy gives permission to love The Sandman. Mandy does the same for Blackbird and The Most Hated Man on the Internet. Pete has lower praise for Surface but saves his powder for Luck, a film that tries so hard to be kind it makes you hate yourself for not loving it.
Trailers
THE LIST!
This week’s list is a parade of misguided movie disdain. We were handed the task of uncovering movies that are widely panned but that we like anyway, and Mandy and Pete delivered. Tommy... was present, but struggled to reach the very bottom of the barrel.
Mandy’s List
1. Paul Blart: Mall Cop
2. Grease 2
3. Miss Congeniality 2: Armed and Fabulous
Pete’s List
1. The Whole Ten Yards
2. McHale’s Navy
3. Speed 2: Cruise Control
Tommy’s List
1. Poseidon
2. Hot Rod
3. Exam
Kyle Olson leads Rob Kubasko and Ray Delancey in the first episode of our new SatMat Season!
🌄
Tommy Metz leads an all-star cast of Krissy Lenz and Rob(by) Kubasko(z) in this SatMat Season Finale with trailers, games, and a list of movies you're too young to watch.
But first, Krissy misunderstood the assignment and saw the wrong Elvis movie. Don't worry, though, the mix-up leads to hijinx and inspiration for not one, but two new spin-off podcasts involving pineapples and exhaustive rewatches of other wrong Elvis movies.
Rob is healing, and used the time to catch up on a lot. Rob's Homework: Red Eye, No Time to Die, Stranger Things, Strange New Worlds, Obi-Wan Kenobi.
Along the way, Netflix is in trouble. They just fired another 300 people. Still, the stream screen is performing just fine, as more people are watching Stranger Things and Obi-Wan than Top Gun Maverick or Jurassic World. Netflix has responded by piloting their password-sharing crackdown. "Excellent" timing.
Meanwhile, tv+ dropped some serious cash on their Ted Lasso-esque plan to own all MLS with a ten-year ownership deal of MLS distribution with no black-outs. Says Eddy Cue (that's Apple's SVP of Services), “For the first time in the history of sports, fans will be able to access everything from a major professional sports league in one place.” In the history of sports, Mr. Cue? Wethinks you are a touch too proud. But still, cool for football hooligans.
THE LIST!
This week's list takes us back in time to the moments we were somehow allowed to see movies that were way out of our league: Movies we were too young to watch.

Pete, Kyle, and Tommy are in the Saturday Matinée this week for vamps on planes, VHS nostalgia, and a watchlist of movies about fans and fanatics!
Pete and Kyle did their homework and have a report on their watch of Blood Red Sky. Even more, Kyle watched Always and reports it might have been better had there been vampires on those planes. Tommy's been Benjamin Buttoning his rewatch of Mission: Impossible and just wrapped up his watch of "Under the Banner of Heaven."
We have no game this week, and in its stead, Kyle brings a walk down memory lane with a grueling inquiry into our film history.

It's the Star Wars Celebration Special! Rob and Kyle went to Anaheim last week and are back to report on their experience during their four days celebrating all things Star Wars.
But first, we dig into Stranger Things, Death on the Nile, Kenobi, and a Trailer Reckoning.

Our list this week begs us to talk of our favorite films set on planes. Turns out, the horizon is wide open on this one.
