It wasn't until I began to understand and embrace discomfort and challenge that I was able to gain the perspective and strength needed to believe in my potential.

In Steven Bartlett's book 'The Diary of a CEO' he makes an argument about the idea of 'leaning in'.

"If it challenges you, lean in. If it makes you feel uncomfortable, lean in. Taking no risk will be your biggest risk."

My life changed when I started leaning in.

Sem Kakembo is a professional mixed martial artist fighting out of Absolute MMA in Melbourne. I battled severe depression throughout the majority of my early-mid 20's that kept me bed ridden for large chunks of the day.

It was debilitating.

I struggled to find work, I flopped in and out of relationships, my friendships were lacking substance and my self-confidence was at an all time low.

The battle was real and raged for the most part into my early 30's when I finally discovered some weapons to help me fight back.

Hey gang! In today's video, I'm diving into the Stoic take on poverty, but with a twist. Sure, there's the poverty we all know about - struggling to make ends meet. It's tough, and I hope we all steer clear of it. 

According to Seneca however, the real poverty is - always wanting more than we've got. 

Yep, that endless chase for the next big thing - more cash, fame, or the latest gadget. I've been down that road more times than I can count.

Although the first form of poverty is hard to predict and therefore avoid, this second form of poverty can be minimised.

This second form of poverty is in our control. But how...

I'll give you 3 ideas to help you address and ultimately overcome this 2nd form of poverty.
