Picking up where we left off three years ago when we were young and full of hope for the new Mighty Ducks series premiering on Disney+. For its 30th anniversary the Say Reporters jump back into the world of The Mighty Ducks for a very special episode discussing why D2 The Mighty Ducks Seems to be the most beloved of the franchise despite possibly being the weakest entry overall when judged as a film.

The future of Hollywood and its marketing machine land squarely in our crosshairs in this episode of The Say Report as we discuss how we got here, how it compares to the Hollywood of the past, and ways that it could be fixed in the next few years. 

Then we discuss Video Game Demos focused through the lens of Wayforward’s new Contra remake and how the world has reacted to the work in progress build of the game .

Finally, your Say Reporters Popped Themselves using Funko’s website leading to interesting finds about how we see ourselves and each other. 

This episode sees your host-companions discuss what can be learned about media consumption after the record breaking viewership of this year’s Super Bowl. We also discus how media is changing and evolving to better incorporate the internet as a tool.

From there Devon finishes his play through of the “Silent Hill: The Short Message” and he and Sejohn discuss where the missteps may lie with that presentation. 

Finally, we take a look at “Madame Web” and what it might mean not only  for the Sony Spider-Man Universe but the enterprise of Superhero movies in general

This episode Devon makes better than good on his promise to get hyper caffeinated and discuss the first four episodes of NBC’s new sitcom “Extended Family,”while Sejohn does the responsible thing and re-opens the discussion about Luke Combs cover of Tracy Chapman’s “Fast Car” in light of its performance at The Grammy’s last week. 

After that there is a brief discussion about the latest antics of Larry David and Devon shares his thoughts about the first two chapters of the latest entry into The Silent Hill Franchise, “The Short Message”

We return from our brief hiatus where Sejohn was in Park City while Devon was building various projects with the intention to discuss all of the things that have been going on in our lives over the past few weeks. Surprisingly a big part in both of your host-companions stories has been the emulation of  old gaming hardware to play some games we have missed in our lives or have been nostalgic for. 

Additionally we discuss the current state of cinematic and streaming releases of films, some of the stranger reactions that have come from the Oscar nominations, and the future of late night television, before culminating in our promise to discuss Extended Family and the latest Silent Hill release next episode.

While there may be some biases on display we take the time to dig deep into the film and explore its importance to the history of cinema, how it relates to similar independent comic book adaptations from the 1990’s, and how it was used as a template for adaptations and their marketing going forward.

In the Season Eight Premiere we welcome you the listener and our Quizmaster General Will Fournier back to the show to discuss a topic we first covered 104 episodes or two calendar years ago. The more successful of How I Met Your Mother’s spinoffs… How I Met Your Father. 

In the seventh season finale of The Say Report you host-companions discuss their current feelings about what it means to fully complete vs. 100% a video as Devon brings up his experiences with the fifth game in the Momodora Series and trying to find the perfect sweet spot to enjoy the modern Metroidvania experiences to its fullest. 

After that we discuss the first issue of the third volume of Spider-Woman and how it relates to “Madame Web” which found a reinvigorated interest on the internet this past week thanks to a “seductive and steamy” promotional video from Dakota Johnson and some rumors from the set about the possibility of Tobey Maguire returning for the film.

This then dovetails nicely into some streaming television and creator control and Sejohn sharing his experience seeing “The Beekeeper”

Finally we close things out with a discussion about the Independent Film Channel and films that have the same names and whether the 2005 Will Ferrell “Kicking & Screaming” was accidentally aired instead of the 1995 Noam Baumbach “Kicking and Screaming.”

In this first episode recorded and released in 2024. Devon starts off sharing the trials and tribulations he experienced with a tooth infection, while Sejohn was dealing with seasonal travel sickness in his neck of the woods. 

Then we discuss hard versions of energy drinks and high caffeine sodas and how we have observed the trends of energy drinks grow and chance in our lifetimes

From there we discuss the first “True Killscreen” achieved in Tetris for the Nintendo Entertainment System, which spirals into a discussion about the based on a true story Gran Turismo film where a simulation driver was able to apply his skills in real world racing. 

Finally Devon shares his disappointment with the abrupt ending of the Magnum P.I. reboot and teases the next show he will be ranting about, “Extended Family,” as soon as he has watched the requisite four episodes required for a informed opinion.
