This month things get very special while we’re celebrating the 30th anniversary of a film that has undeniably had a lasting effect on the medium of cinema… Richard Linklater’s “Dazed and Confused” 

Whether that means your host companions think that the film should be revered or reviled is a whole other story and a mystery we hope to be able to solve by the end of the episode.

After his performance in “The Whale” Brendan Fraser now breathes the rarified air of an Oscar winner, but in 1996 he was in a film where he was already sharing air with future Oscar winners like himself when he briefly appeared in Rich Wilkes “Glory Daze.”

Not only does this tie nicely into our sister podcast exploring the Rich Wilkes penned “Airheads,” but it also explores the effects a middling movie can have on an actors future goals and prospects. 

Then once we’ve graduated from discussing “Glory Daze” we welcome back Quizmaster General Will Fournier for the conclusion of the Brendan Fraser Quiz of Brendan Fraser 2 and more “Scrubs” discussion between real friends. 

Continuing our celebration of Brendan Fraser History Month we take a look at the 1994 film “With Honors” the tale of a Harvard Senior who thinks he knows everything and the bum that is able to teach him how wrong he is in that line of thinking. 

Then we rejoin our Quizmaster General to discuss the second episode in the Brendan Fraser Scrubs Trilogy: “My Hero” and then try to prove to Will that we actually watched the episode by solving his gauntlet of trivia questions related to it. 

This week in our continued celebration of Brendan Fraser we discuss the 2013 film “Hair Brained” where he portrays late bloomer Leo Searly a 41-year-old college student who befriends and guides 13-year-old genius prodigy Eli Pettifore on his quest for vengeance against Harvard after their rejection,

Before that though we have a discussion about new flavors and varietals of Mountain Dew and address the writer’s strike. 

Then after the Hair Brained discussion ends we are joined by our resident quizmaster Will Fournier to discuss the first of Brendan’s three episode of Scrubs s1e22: My Occurrence followed by a quiz to see how much of the episode’s content we retained.  

It’s Brendan Fraser History Month again and we are starting the festivities with the first film he appeared in to not only receive multiple Oscar nominations but also win one of the awards as well… “Gods and Monsters”

Then once that discussion has finished and Devon has introduced his new "Two Brendan's Theory" we commence The Brendan Fraser Quiz of Brendan Fraser 2 where Quizmaster General Will Fournier starts things off nice and easy with questions related to general trivia about the man 

This very special episode sees the culmination of our discussion and celebration of the original American Pie Trilogy as we finally get to discuss you host-companions favorite entry in the series “American Wedding” as it celebrates its 20th Anniversary.

Will the film still hold up after all these years or will filtering it through the lens of 2023 reveal all of the sticky, seedy, details that were either missed or ignored back when we first saw it in High School?

This episode the latest Nintendo Indie World Showcase and Broken Lizard’s latest film fuel a discussion about the differences between independent projects and “indie” projects in both the video game and cinematic realms. Before that thoughts are shared on “Ori and the Blind Forest,” “Death’s Door,” and the uncertain future of television

The subject of this episode is the past week that was experienced by host-companion Devon where pretty much everything that could go wrong, did go wrong, and how he was able to keep smiling and rise above,

Sejohn is inspired by this microcosm of bad luck to discuss the various microcosms that he has observed post the COVID-19 pandemic and how they have been shaped and formed by our current technological landscape.

We kick off this latest episode by sharing our reaction to having a episode banned on YouTube for content related reasons and how it made us examine the work we are currently doing and how it compares to our work from 2021.

Then Sejohn gets to share his thoughts about Peter Molyneux and kickstarted video games which ends in a beautiful segue to discuss the new “Super Mario Bros. Movie” and how we each felt about our time with it and what it may mean for Nintendo, Illumination, and the Mario Franchise going forward.

This week’s episode Devon gets to share all the movies and television shows he got to experience recently which prompts a wonderful discussion about the best style of episode distribution for streaming entertainment.

Meanwhile, Sejohn is hoarding all of his movie excitement for the release of The Super Mario Bros. Movie this week so he has been passing the time experiencing some older video game outings from the world’s more recognizable plumber.

In the end the one thing we can confirm above all else is that this episode is definitely not an April Fool’s Day joke… which is the type of assurance we can all afford in these modern times of uncertainty
