Surprising Devon, Sejohn has made the executive decision to bring things back to how they used to be on The Say Report and after Devon’s somewhat confusing review of the Joker sequel last week who could blame him. 

This week we make good on a Say Report promise, unfortunately that promise becomes more of a threat when it is revealed to be a discussion about not only the term “NashVegas” but the song by Russ Still and the Moonshiners… Special Thank You to Dayle Decker for reading the article from Russ’ website detailing the events.

Then Devon saw a bunch of movies this week but the most important one to note here in the synopsis is the follow-up to Todd Phillip’s 2019 little film that could “Joker: Folie à Deux.” There will be spoilers as Devon goes over the parts of the film that made him the most nervous and Sejohn assures him it is struggling to find an audience in its opening weekend. 

Finally the Say Reporters are still immersed in the world of Echoes of Wisdom and Devon provides a start date for when listeners can approach him to discuss the game. 

This week’s episode Devon asks a question that has been weighing on him about purchasing collectibles of people he knows and Sejohn shares his adventures in Las Vegas as we return to recording after our 400th episode proper. 

Then we take a look at the video games we have been playing with a cavalcade of Beat ‘Em Ups, a 50 games in 1 package, and The Legend of Link: Echoes of Wisdom. 

Finally, we share some of the new Fall television series we have been watching in an effort to prove that television is going to keep being television when it comes to making any sort of sense. 

In this very special episode we use our double feature format to celebrate the 30th anniversary of a pair of unlikely movie twins that first found their way into our hearts and minds in the form of video games: “Double Dragon” and “Street Fighter”

How do these two titans of fighting hold up by today's standards and what can they teach us about how we as a society consume media in these modern times

We’re taking the week off after our 400th episode with  this time capsule episode where we celebrate the 30th anniversary of Rob Reiner’s “North” a film so universally hated that it changed the entire face of cinema and film criticism in its wake… 

Don’t worry though we also discuss some other things like the future of the Marvel Cinematic Universe and Arizona Hard Iced Tea

For our four hundredth episode rather than rely on cheap gimmicks or pithy celebration we decided to give the people what they have come to expect from the Say Report a show about everything…

What that means for this outing is a taste test of the latest Coca-Cola Creation, a deep dive in to the familial connections of the Donkey Kong universe, discussion about the latest game published by WayForward, and some assorted exploration of value.

This being our 399th episode of The Say Report the original plan was to have our Quizmaster General Will take over as host for again, but when he is called into a meeting at the time we had planned to record… Devon and Sejohn are forced to go with Plan B and spend the episode discussing Eli Roth’s cinematic adaptation of the video game Borderlands!

In this week’s episode after a discussion about the work of Tim Burton and the Official Movie Partner promotions we see on display for “Beetlejuice, Beetlejuice.” The Say Reporters turn their attention to Devon’s High School and the strange photo that the English Department posted celebrating the first week of school. In turn this leads to a discussion about how e teach students Literacy in public schools and how outdated labeling it the English Department may actually be.  Then Devon shares his extremely strange 18 hour experience with the Playstation 5 release old Vampire Survivors examining the way in which its over 200 base trophies were presented to the players and how games in 2024 seem to never want to end, even in the single player space.

Somehow we made it and are still podcasting four years after we recorded our Very Special Episode covering the film “Bring It On” and for some reason we decided this is the time we should make good on one of our Say Report Promises by covering its straight to dvd sequel “Bring It On Again”

This episode the Say Reporters put their feelings about Francis Ford Coppola and “Megalopolis” to digital tape under the guise of informing the audience about the first and so far only American Emperor. 

Then Devon shares the week of adventures he went on and how the various victories from cheap chicken wings to Wrestling Turtles were almost tainted by having to face his own exceptions of privacy in our modern world. 

Finally Sejohn shares his first thoughts on “Bakeru” after playing the demo currently available on Nintendo Switch, Devon talks about “Rick and Morty: The Anime,” and “101 Dalmatian Street,” before the two take a look at the changes going on at Rotten Tomatoes and pontificate on what they may mean for the website and cinema going forward.
