Welcome to a new Schlock & Awe Series. Murderers We Have Known. Lindsay & Nadine will focus on a famous murder or series of murders and look at how a Double Feature treats changes and portrays the crime.
To start things off we are looking at Leopold & Leob and the Crime of the Century with a Double of Tom Kalin's Swoon (1992) & Alfred Hitchcock's Rope (1948). This is a Double that looks at queerness, intellectualism, the Übermensch and how there is no such thing as the perfect murder.

This week on S&A Lindsay and Imperial Scum Podcast Co-Host Andy go back to 1985 with two directors entering the Hollywood scene. Andrew Davis' Code of Silence (1985) & Peter Weir's Witness (1985). Two comparable directors with two distinct styles. Both taking on corrupt cops both dealing with an outside influence. Gang Warfare and the Amish. Both these seemingly typical 1985 action movies have a certain flare.

This week on S&A Lindsay and Tim from It Didn't Go Platinum Podcast wonder what it would be like to grow up in the apocalypse. It's a Double of Alfonso Cuaron's Children of Men (2006) & Dr. George Miller's Furiosa: A Mad Max Saga (2024). This is a Double that not only looks at gaining power or resources in a dystopia - whether it be children or a bullet farm. But more importantly the attitudes of countries like Britain and Australia and their attitudes toward dictatorships. Are we closer than we think heading toward 2027 (the answer is yes by the way) or is all about putting on a show.

This week on S&A Lindsay & Bede vs The Living Dead - Bede create their own Vanity Project with a Double of Craig Denny's The Astrologer (1976) & John De Hart's Champagne and Problems (1993). Do you want a film maker who doesn't know what they are doing? A film guided by numerology, no context for scenes, grotesque sex scenes and a very drunk Wings Hauser? We have that and more. These men had a dream and too much money and we are thankful for it.
