In the latest episode, I got to speak to Actor, Bodybuilder, Confidence Coach and all round good guy Choon Tan. Choon has appeared on Ninja Warrior UK, Little Britons and Artemis Fowl to name but 3.
As well as his varied career in entertainment, which includes 'nightlife' (listen to learn what that entails), we talked about bullying, overcoming our fears in order to succeed, and how the story Yes Man (a book and later Jim Carrey film) played into his life.
Enjoy!
In this week's episode, I got to catch up with one of my oldest actor chums, Sreedevi Mina. Sreedevi is an American actress who worked in London for a brief period and it was here, on London's fringe theatre circuit that we met. As well as theatre, she's worked in mainstream tv such as CW's Walker series.
We talk about her career, her travels - that's seen her move from New Jersey to LA to London to Atlanta and back to LA - Covid, and everything in-between.
She's also the voice over during the intro to this very show, so, technically, she's been in every single episode!
You can learn more about her work here: https://www.imdb.com/name/nm0002597/?ref_=ext_shr_lnk
Enjoy!
In the latest episode, we return to 'regular' (ish) programming with an interview with British Malaysian actor Patrick Loh. Patrick has worked in film and television for over 4 decades, from Indiana Jones & The Temple of Doom (1984) to The Old Guard (2020) - which is where we met - to the recent Netflix adaptation of The Sandman (2022).
Patrick shares stories from his varied career and more.
Oh, and if you're interested in seeing his comedy series that he mentions towards the end of the episode, here's a link to Buckingham Allotments, made (safely!) during lockdown: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sOUAAnrlSvk&t=6s
Enjoy!
In my final 'FanCast' episode (originally recorded in 2021), I spoke with old chum Jessica Odell. Jessica is a fan, cosplayer and has also dabbled working in front of as well as behind the camera on shows such as Game of Thrones and the short lived, Superman prequel Syfy series Krypton.
We recall how we first met (at the Star Wars Celebration Europe 2016 'afterparty') and chat all things about her fandom and work. Oh, we also have a surprise visit from her puppy dog friend about half way through our chat.
Enjoy!
Another episode from the FanCast series, originally recorded in 2021, I (Rutvig) catch up with decades old chum Tin Tin Sum - not the Herge character! We chat about all things Star Wars and The Tin Man's fandom. I also divulges some 'behind the scenes secrets' and stories from the The Last Jedi wrap party amongst other things, in what is our longest episode EVER!
Oh, and the weird Paul Sun-Hyung Lee (Carson Teva from The Mandalorian) intro? It's because Tin Tin looks like him. Pop over to our socials (https://www.instagram.com/screeningroomthe and https://www.facebook.com/RoomScreeningThe/) to see what I mean.
And as always, like, subscribe etc. etc. I really appreciate your support.
Enjoy.
The second episode of the 'Fancast' series sees host Rutvig talking to Star Wars collector and Star Wars 'knowledge bin' Liam Ball, of starwarsplaces.com. Liam shares stories from his fandom, ranging from his amazing collection, and travelling to LA to watch The Phantom Menace in 1999, to his extremely insightful website Star Wars Places which looks at the filming locations from the franchise.
Enjoy!
In this, the first of a series of interviews with fan friends of Rutvig's - aptly yet not aptly - titled 'FanCast', host Rutvig speaks with long time friend, collaborator and all round good guy, Rinaldo Somaini from Switzerland.
Originally recorded in 2021, Rinaldo talks about his collection, his fandom and some of the many movie themes events he's hosted over the years across various cities and towns in Switzerland.
Listen to Rutvig and Rinaldo geek out as well as reminisce on some of their shared experiences.
Enjoy!
In this first episode of a series that was recorded back in early 2021, Rutvig goes through his best of list from 2020.
The episode also features an exclusive interview with a very special guest, so enjoy!
A Tale of Two Tims! Rutvig's May convention appearances continue, this time in sunny Folkestone for a Star Wars event.
Rutvig spoke to fellow Topps artist (and 'booth buddy') Jamie Richards about his recent, exclusive Star Wars Celebration Topps cards, as well as convention scene newcomer, artist Dustine West. Dustine talks candidly about a life changing accident that lead him to become an artist.
And finally, Rutvig has a lovely conversation with Star Wars stalwart CFX performers Tim Rose (Admiral Ackbar) and Tim Dry (J'Quille) from Return of the Jedi.
Enjoy!
