In this special episode (originally intended to be an episode of host Rutvig Vaid's upcoming Toy Review Channel My Toy Stuff) Rutvig talks to old convention pal and fellow Star Wars fan Jay Fear. Jay has been splashed across media this past week as he was granted his dying wish of meeting Hollywood A-Lister Ryan Reynolds at the recent Wrexham football game. Some parts of this episode may be unsettling for some listeners, but we both hope that if anybody else is in the same position as Jay, that they find some comfort by listening to his story.

Last weekend brought the sad news of the passing of a Star Wars legend: Dave Prowse. The British actor and weightlifting champion portrayed numerous characters during the 60s and 70s, but is perhaps best known for playing the iconic villain Darth Vader, as well as the children's safety advocate The Green Cross Code Man.
In this episode, Rutvig remembers his many encounters with Dave over the years and the impact Dave's work had on him as a child.
The book Dave talks about in the audio clip at the end of this episode is Play Safe with the Stars: Child’s Guide to Safety and used copies can be readily found online. The audio clip was edited from this interview https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=O6AxQyBsbu8 used with respect to the original author(s).
RIP Dave. Thank you for the memories.
John Higgins is a British comics artist renowned for his work on 2000AD, Watchmen and Batman: The Killing Joke. Rutvig discusses with Higgins his incredible decades long career in comics.
Whilst this interview was originally recorded mid 2018, it leads us into Rutvig's new From Page to Screen series, where he will examine books and their film counterparts in real time, starting next week with the animated film Batman: The Killing Joke. Make sure you have both your copy of the graphic novel and the film lined up and ready. And even if you don't, either way, it should be an interesting series, looking at how well the work translates across mediums.
