In this impromptu episode, Rutvig reacts (sort of) to the recent Kanye West appearance on Joe Rogan's podcast, and West's comments about Star Wars and the Hero's Journey.
Amongst the various ramblings, Rutvig recounts some early fancy dress costumes, as well as reciting passages from Joseph Campbell's book The Hero with a Thousand Faces (with little understanding of much of it). He also tries to relate elements of the book, as best he can, to the beginning chapters of each Star Wars trilogy; Episode 4: A New Hope, Episode 1: The Phantom Menace and Episode 7: The Force Awakens.
Next week, we'll return to our 'regular format' with an interview with Hollywood (and Star Wars) stuntman (and Britain's Got Talent star) Matthew Stirling.
In this week's episode, Rutvig talks to long time theatre buddy and actor, Charan Singh. The two discuss how they first met in London (at Rutvig's first ever audition no less), their starts on stage and later, with Charan (now a resident of Singapore) speaking specifically about his evolution from stage to screen actor, to his directorial debut and more.
We apologise for the slightly poor audio on the guest's side. Technology! You gota love it!
Enjoy.
In our Halloween Special, host Rutvig Vaid talks to actress Patricia Tallman. With an incredible filmography under her belt both as man actress and stunt performer, Tallman is perhaps known to most fans for her work on the 90s Star Trek series' and films, and Babylon 5, as well as playing the updated version of Barbara in the 1990 Night of the Living Dead remake.
She also talks a little about her other ventures, such as her travel agency / events work B5events.com:
You can follow her on social media at the following: https://linktr.ee/patriciatallman
Happy Halloween everybody!
The Screening Room returns next week with a host of new guests including Patricia Tallman, Charan Singh and Matthew Stirling to name but 3. And Rutvig will also be recording some special episodes titled From Page to Screen, starting with the Batman graphic novel, The Killing Joke where he will look at the source material and go through it in real time whilst watching the filmed version.
Enjoy!
In this week's episode, Rutvig chats to old college chum and film and TV graphic designer, Jenn Moye. Jenn talks about her career and how she evolved from her fine arts background, to working on some of the largest franchises in the world as a graphic designer. Some of her credits include The Walking Dead and the MCU films Spider-Man: Homecoming, Avengers: Infinity War and Avengers: End Game.
If you've ever wondered what's involved in being a graphic designer on large Hollywood blockbusters, this is the episode for you!
Host Rutvig Vaid chats with British Actor Richard Cunningham, who talks about his start in acting (you may be surprised where Richard first starting performing) and overcoming his fears performing, through to his education at LAMDA, the beginnings of his professional career in Theatre, TV and film and of course, no conversation with Richard would be complete without some stories about his time on the film Rogue One: A Star Wars Story which, you may be surprised to learn, was lengthier than it may seem.
An entertaining and insightful conversation with a delightful guest.
In this weeks episode Rutvig Vaid is joined by filmmaker and returning guest, Sam Jeffries. The pair deliver a comedy I mean, commentary track for the erm, critically acclaimed, underrated classic, Robocop 2!
They chat all things Robocop (and how good the *original is), Sam's love of Uwe Boll, and the colour of Robocop's helmet amongst other things. All whilst sipping on a sweet, sweet **Budweiser.
Enjoy.
*For the record, we love Robocop 2 too! But not Robocop 3. That film was not good.
**The Screening Room is not sponsored by or affiliated in any way with Budweiser. Though it probably wishes it was.
In this week's episode, host Rutvig Vaid is joined by illustrator, cartoonist and all round artist, Nicholas Diak AKA Lumberjack Nick. Nick is best known for his Star Wars illustrations - which can be found across his many online platforms - but is also the person responsible for The Screening Room illustrations.
We talk about his career, his past projects and his thoughts on the hit animated series Star Wars The Clone Wars.
Enjoy.
In this week's episode, Rutvig talks to actor and super tall person (7'1"!) Ross Sambridge.
Ross performed as one of the Snoke body doubles from the film Star Wars: The Last Jedi, as well as playing a Wookiee slave in the spin off film, Solo: A Star Wars Story.
The original interview was conducted in November 2018, so the discussion doesn't touch on anything learned in The Rise of Skywalker. But we do talk about the process and learn some things about how that incredible CG character was brought to life on screen.

This week's episode sees host Rutvig Vaid talking with artist Joe Corroney, who's widely know for his work on the Star Wars license, as well as Star Trek and Doctor Who among others.
They discuss Corroney's career, his work with Lucasfilm and and on the Star Wars franchise, as well as some chat about the DCEU and the supposed JJ Abrams cut of The Rise of Skywalker.
Enjoy!
