We are in a society where most kinds of aggression and masculinity are demonized and denigrated as bad, evil, or unhealthy. But is there such a thing as healthy aggression? In this episode, I talk about the importance of viciousness, standing up for ourselves, fighting back (when necessary and from a healthy place), the survival instinct, and what I call warrior energy. Knowing which fights to get into (and why) is a big part of this. Unfortunately, much aggressive raw survival energy is wasted on stupid online arguments and pointless protests. In this episode, I explore what warrior energy means and can look like in the contemporary world, what causes our lack of it (and extreme misdirection of it when it's present), and where we can channel this energy instead (and why we should be aware of any of this at all).

There is this strange idea floating around that spiritual people need to be docile doormats, or never stand up for ourselves when we are attacked. In this episode, I talk about how important it is to stand up for ourselves when it is necessary and warranted to do so. In 2026, I want all of y'all to feel comfortable and justified in standing up for yourselves. Standing up for yourself is not 'doing harm' to someone else. A lotta witches are miserable, unhappy, and ungrounded - they do magic for the wrong reasons, such as emotional instability, pettiness, anger, jealousy, or something else. Magic can absolutely be worked with to help us heal from trauma (as I talk about in my second graphic novel Bodymagic), however it seems that many people in witchcraft land aren't using magic to heal, but rather to further entrench themselves in their own negative habits, mindsets, and unhealthy ways of thinking.
