The WE WILL DREAM festival delegation joins the 2025 International Black Theatre Summit (IBTS) in Accra, Ghana, deepening connections between Black artists and creatives from across the diaspora. In this episode, the WWDF delegation joins the podcast to discuss their upcoming voyage to Africa. They confess their fears, lay out their intentions, and leave room for discovery of revelations that could only be actualized amongst their ancestral atmosphere. Sometimes, personal goals get lost because we say yes to other people's goals without assessing whether or not they align with ours. Though there is something valuable to take from every experience, we have to constantly evaluate whether or not what we are currently doing is nourishing us or depleting us.

J.Mix is a multi-hyphenate performing artist born & raised in New Orleans, LA. She is a Loyola University Music School graduate with over fifty theatrical credits since 2006. For the vast majority of her career, she's sung the tunes of other composers and songwriters in theatrical and classical spaces. Over the last three years, she has begun releasing original music and has found fulfillment & freedom in sharing herself in this way.

On Friday, October 25th, her new(ish) single, "Circles 2.0” will be released on streaming services. It's "new(ish)" because this song is a re-imagining of the previous single “Circles” released with the Songwriter Collab in 2022. In her opinion, this latest iteration feels more like an accurate representation of who she is as an artist and of the sound/musical ideas she hopes to evolve into as her solo artist career grows.
