God put Saul's army into a stupor of sleep and David and Abessa went into their camp and collected Saul's spear and cruse which were at his head and returned to their mountain and called out to Abenner and Saul. David revealed that a second time the Lord delivered Saul into his hand and David refused to strike down the Lord's anointed. And Saul blessed David and left in peace.

After David's men guarded Nabal's servants in Carmel, he sent messengers to Nabal to bless him and request an offering for his men. Nabal refused making David so angry he swore to kill all of the men in Nabal's household. Along the way he was met by Abigaia who apologized and brought an offering, and with her words appeased David turning him back. Afterwards she informed Nabal she had saved him from being slain and his heart died within him and Abigail became David's wife.

Saul entered into the shallow part of a cave where David and his men were hiding. And they encouraged David to slay Saul. And David cut a piece of Saul's garment and then later called out to him and waived the garment and informed Saul he held his life in his hand and chose not to slay him. Saul then prophesied to David's future and asked him to sware not to cut off his family line, when David came into his kingdom. David agreed and Saul departed.

Saul pursued David from Keila to Ziph. In Keila God warned David Saul was coming. And so he and his men fled and Saul relented. Later the Ziphites came to Saul to trap David, and just before he was ready to attack David he received word the Philistines were invading and so he left.

Saul commands the execution of Abimelech's house because he gave David bread and a sword. He then commands his men to fall on and kill he priests of the Lord, but all refuse except Doec the Syrian who kills them all and then goes to their city to continue the slaughter. David protects Abiathar and confesses his guilt toward his father's house.

David came to Abimelech the priest and requested five loaves and a weapon. The priest asked why he was alone and David said he was sent on an urgent matter by king Saul. Doec the Syrian overheard the conversation. Abimelech gives him five of the holy loaves and the sword of Goliath.

Jonathan and David arrange a test and a signal. The test to discern if Saul is lying and a signal to advise David whether he's safe or he should leave because Saul seeks his life.

Saul sets his mind to killing David and begins making attempts on his life. He sends three sets of messengers to Rama in Navath and the Spirit of the Lord comes upon them and they prophesy instead. So Saul goes and ends up prophesying naked all night before the people.

Saul hates David because of the songs the women sing about him. He devises to give his daughter Melchol to David to be a stumbling stone to him. David slays 100 Philistines and delivers their foreskins to Saul for a bride price.

Goliath defies the armies of Israel to send out a champion to fight him. David volunteers and slays the Philistine in the name of the God of Israel using a sling and a stone. The Philistines then fled before the armies of Israel and suffered a great slaughter that day.
