The Shield & Sword Podcast

In this 30th Episode of "The Shield & Sword Podcast", Your Hosts(Bro. Derek Rich and Pastor Matney) have an open and candid discussion concerning "Hindrances to a Biblically Defined Faith". Some key, yet seldom mentioned elements of that definition are presented, i.e. According to Jesus, Faith in God involves believing what you say will come to pass.  Subtle hindrances are examined that have not been dealt with in previous Episodes, such as not being a person of your word or not being a determined person, to name a couple. Such unrefined character traits make a healthy, effective Faith more difficult to operate in, especially in situations of urgency. Our lifestyle, developed in the Spirit of Faith, will prepare us for specific moments when trials and difficulties arise.  In this 30th Episode, you will be challenged and called by Grace to be someone, perhaps of the minority, in whom the Lord "shall find Faith" according to His definition! Let's grow and go forward in the kind of Faith that pleases God!  "The Shield & Sword Podcast" is a Ministry of the FULL GOSPEL FAITH MINISTRIES.

In this eighth and final part of the current series, "Suffering: A Biblical Perspective", Your Hosts(Pastor Matney and Bro. Derek Rich) emphasize how our understanding of God's Will, specifically as it relates to suffering, must be consistent with His desires that are expressed as possible, even if they do not seem probable due to a fallen world and human tendencies. Even Jesus, who was cognizant of the Scripture's prediction that He would be despised and rejected, wept over His people's(Israel) rejection of Him because it was contrary to God's Will.  A couple of such divinely desired possibilities are that all be Saved and come to Repentance, and that His people(Believers) live godly, honest lives in peace and tranquility. Fascinating insights into the Apostle Paul's perspective on persecution are shared from the Book of Acts, as well as a special look into the statement in Hebrews 5:8b that says Jesus "...learned obedience by the things which he suffered;".  Ultimately, the listener is exhorted to not accept false narratives about suffering, even if emotionally stimulating, because they give place to that from which we Redeemed and over which we were given the Right in Christ to resist.  "The Shield & Sword Podcast" is a Ministry of the FULL GOSPEL FAITH MINISTRIES.

In this particular episode(Episode 24 - Part 5 of "Suffering: A Biblical Perspective") of "The Shield & Sword Podcast", your hosts(Pastor Matney and Bro. Derek Rick) delve deeply into the categorical errors that are often made when applying the numerous New Testament passages about suffering, which in all actuality describe the early church's historical context of persecution. The Apostle Paul, for one, clearly recognized that the suffering He experienced at the hands of his persecutors was due to their rebellion against and not their reflection of God's good will toward Paul(a vital distinction). Paul's thorn in the flesh is addressed in a concise, yet clarifying manner. A very eye-opening truth is presented concerning the costly misconception that God wills that someone experience His revealed will in His Word(i.e. conversion resulting in Salvation) at the expense of willing someone else to experience that which is contrary to His revealed will(i.e. car accident, cancer, etc., resulting in premature death, even eternal damnation).  You will find this episode very impactful!    "The Shield & Sword Podcast" is a Ministry of the FULL GOSPEL FAITH MINISTRIES.
