The Shield & Sword Podcast

In this riveting Episode(Twenty-Three, Part 4 - "Suffering - A Biblical Perspective") of "The Shield & Sword Podcast", Pastor Matney and Bro. Derek Rich, examine a common idea relating to God's purpose of suffering.  A quick exegesis is given to perhaps the most frequently referenced passage used in explaining such items as God's divine purpose in all things good and bad, Romans 8:28. Contrary to popular opinion(mostly driven by a calvinistic paradigm of the Scripture), God does not agree that the “ends” justify the “means” when those means involve His planning and preferring of evil or suffering at the cost of compromising His nature and the integrity of His Word, as identified in Romans 3:8.  Rather, He can REDEEM that for which He is not RESPONSIBLE, as presented in Romans 12:21.  Our Redeemer is more pleased and glorified when we zealously maintain the aforementioned distinction, and we are all the more comforted and endeared to Him because He is truly a good Father.  "The Shield & Sword Podcast" is a Ministry of the FULL GOSPEL FAITH MINISTRIES.

In this third B.F.B.(Bonus Feature Broadcast), your Hosts(Pastor Matney and Bro. Derek Rich) are joined by first-time special guest, Rev. Trever Metheny of Coweta, OK., to discuss the severity of the failed current administration and the significance of this presidential election to our future as the United States of America. Profound insights are shared as to what brought our nation face to face with the current problems of our day. Such examples would be the long range plan of indoctrination by public or government education, as well as accommodating media outlets that help to foster lies instead of basic, unbiased reporting.  As Believers, we must be willing to fulfill both our immediate and long term strategic roles as salt and light(Matthew 5:13-16), occupying until Christ returns.  "The Shield & Sword Podcast" is a Ministry of the FULL GOSPEL FAITH MINISTRIES.

In this Third Part of “Suffering: A Biblical Perspective”, Your Hosts(Pastor Matney and Bro. Derek Rich) continue on with the importance of defining God's Will in a way that pleases Him.  Our conclusions about His involvement in our suffering must uphold the Truth that there is no darkness in Him at all. His nature is why Heaven is described the way it is. It may be surprising to us who have been tempted to think that God is less affected by human suffering to see that Scripture actually declares that He is affected much more profoundly than we can comprehend. A statement of major importance is set forth as follows: God's will(or preference, for sake of clarity) cannot be defined by what He can turn for good or Redeem from, but by what He desired beforehand.  God is Thankfully, Redeemer of less than His preferable situations, in ways that bring about our good and His Glory. Nevertheless, what Jesus would do in a given situation is what would bring optimal human good and Glory to Him. A few significant current events are also addressed. Be encouraged with fresh perspective in this 22nd Episode!  "The Shield & Sword Podcast" is a Ministry of the FULL GOSPEL FAITH MINISTRIES.

In this Twenty - First Episode of "The Shield & Sword Podcast", more foundational truths are laid out in Part 2 of “Suffering: A Biblical Perspective” in order to prepare the way for upcoming in-depth exegesis of passages containing words/concepts like suffering, affliction, tribulation, persecution, etc. Your Hosts(Pastor Matney and Bro. Derek Rich) cannot overemphasize the vital understanding that God is not the Originator of suffering, and that we must let God be God regarding questions about how New Testament Scriptures referring to God's eternal plan for those in Christ would correlate and should be understood had God's genuine desires and demands for humanity always been upheld. You will also benefit from the presentation of distinct categories/kinds of suffering and the importance of properly distinguishing those categories as we move into the agents involved.  “The Shield & Sword Podcast” is a Ministry of the FULL GOSPEL FAITH MINISTRIES.

In Part 5(Episode 18) of the current Gospel Guideposts Series,  "Redeemed From The Curse of The Law", your Hosts(Pastor Matney and Bro. Derek Rich) further explain how God took great effort articulating in the ears of all the people the nature of Blessings and Cursings from two distinct mountain tops in Scripture. In a similar manner, as God appointed spokespersons to announce the Sinai Covenant, He has made us able ministers of the New Covenant so that the reading of the Will and Testament are plainly stated and clearly understood to those who will listen. Ministers of the Word are exhorted to prioritize the understanding of those that listen to them even above that which pertains to emotions. When properly understood, our Redemption from the Curse of the Law and the benefits enjoyed through the Blessing of Abraham, ultimately brings healthy expressions of both deep reverence and great joy! In Christ, we have a Redemption worth rejoicing about!  "The Shield & Sword Podcast" is a Ministry of the FULL GOSPEL FAITH MINISTRIES.

In Episode 17, your Hosts(Pastor Matney and Bro. Derek Rich) continue with Part 4 of the current Gospel Guideposts Series, "Redeemed from the Curse of the Law. "  In so doing, fresh insights are introduced as to how God Redeemed Abraham's descendants from Egyptian bondage, and how that foreshadowed what Christ accomplished for us. The historical context of Paul's use of the terms "the curse" and "the Blessing" are further explored as well.  Special attention is also given to the will of God as it pertains to His people(Believers) experiencing financial prosperity, as they honor Him and build His Kingdom, rather than the bondage of solely building to facilitate the flesh and its appetites, which are the epitome of the world's system . This Episode concludes with a powerful call to personal application! In order to experience all that our Redemption includes, we must "SPEAK UP!", as evidenced in Psalm 107:2.   "The Shield & Sword Podcast" is a Ministry of the FULL GOSPEL FAITH MINISTRIES.

In Episode 16 of "The Shield & Sword Podcast", your Hosts(Pastor Matney and Bro. Derek Rich) continue on with the current Gospel Guideposts Series(G.G.S. Pt 3) by further exploring the topic at hand, "Redeemed from the Curse of the Law".   According to the Apostle Paul, “the Blessing of Abraham” is a result of Christ’s Redemptive work on our behalf which should be believed and received as New Covenant Children of God in Christ, the Seed of Abraham.  Attention is given to the distinction between a servant vs Sonship mentality; you will see how to better identify with and walk in the Blessing of Abraham.  As mature Sons who serve, we should follow the example of our “Faith Forefather”, Abraham, who maintained his love, trust, obedience, humility, generosity, etc., while being greatly Blessed in silver and gold, livestock and resources, as well as authority and influence. Also, in context, the Blessings and curses(obedience to the Word vs disobedience) found in Deuteronomy, along with insightful(and possibly somewhat surprising) pointers concerning contributing factors in one’s length of life are shared. Wherever you find yourself and whatever your experience has been, start walking the Word out by Faith, and like Abraham, watch THE BLESSING overtake you!  "The Shield & Sword Podcast" is a Ministry of the FULL GOSPEL FAITH MINISTRIES.
