The Shield & Sword Podcast

In G.G.S. Part 2 "Redeemed from the Curse of the Law", Your Hosts(Pastor Matney & Bro. Derek Rich) discuss several reasons for which the law was given. God's good and just character is upheld while addressing possible, and even some popular misconceptions. The law DID NOT testify to God being unrealistic in His expectations for humanity, rather the law EXPOSED humanity's unwillingness to comply and rely upon God. Obedience was the expressed goal under both law and Faith, but the law highlighted our disconnect from the source of strength, while FAITH HIGHLIGHTS our connection to that grace through Christ. Powerful insights are shared regarding God's pre-law dealings with Cain and Abraham as welI His post-law dealings with mankind. You will be more in awe of the love and wisdom of our God in His Redemptive plan through Christ!  "The Shield & Sword Podcast" is a Ministry of the FULL GOSPEL FAITH MINISTRIES.

In this 10th episode of "The Shield & Sword Podcast", Pastor Matney shares some of how the Faith Conference came into being. He tells of how the Lord gave him such a strong burden and vision for a conference devoted to the all-encompassing topic of Bible Faith. God's Word has placed a high priority upon our Faith. If every area of our lives is to please God, then every area must be characterized by Faith. Co-host, Bro. Derek Rich, also joins Pastor Matney to unpack how Faith, as defined and recognized by God, is perhaps one of the most assumed virtues, while often being misunderstood. Several remarkable passages are explored and explained, shedding light on how God is pleased by our receiving from Him through Faith. You will find this power-packed episode to be well worth your time and consideration. We thoroughly trust that You'll be Blessed by this 10th episode, "Vision for the Annual Faith Conference", and also, we'd love to meet you at the 8th Annual Faith Conference 2023 hosted by Pastor Travis Matney and New Life Holiness Church in Lake Placid, FL.  The dates are Wednesday Evening(Nov. 8th) at 7:30PM through Sunday Morning(Nov. 12th) at 11AM.  Evening Services are at 7:30PM Wednesday Evening(Nov. 8th) through Saturday Evening(Nov. 11th), and the Afternoon Teaching Sessions are at 12 Noon Thursday(Nov. 9th) through Friday(Nov. 10th); on Saturday(Nov. 11th) at Noon, there will be an Open Panel Discussion with Questions from the Congregation as the Guest Speakers at this Year's Faith Conference will interact with the Congregation in a way that is edifying and knowledgeable!  The Final Service will be on Sunday Morning(Nov. 12th) at 11AM.  All of the Information is on the Flyer that's posted on the FULL GOSPEL FAITH MINISTRIES Facebook Page and Instagram Account.  "The Shield & Sword Podcast" is a Ministry of the FULL GOSPEL FAITH MINISTRIES.

In this fifth and final part of "Dominion:  The Missing Message"(a continuation of the "Gospel Guideposts Series"[G.G.S.]), Pastor Jeff Owen(Pastor of the Gospel Lighthouse Holiness Church in Texarkana, AR.) joins the hosts(Pastor Matney and Bro. Derek Rich) to discuss the reality of Dominion in the life of Jesus Christ.  As the Last Adam, Christ not only brought us the clearest revelation of the Dominion for which humanity was made, but He also restored it to those who believe on Him. He declared and demonstrated the Gospel of the Kingdom which is the Good News that God's superiority over all His enemies can be experienced. Our Master built His Church with a group of followers whom He had trained to walk in His Authority. Now as the blood-bought, Spirit-indwelt and empowered Body of Christ, we are called to walk in Dominion over sin and self, sickness, and Satan. Some very helpful perspectives are shared concerning when our experience looks different than Dominion and so much more. You will find this finale to be greatly challenging and encouraging!  "The Shield & Sword Podcast" is a Ministry of the FULL GOSPEL FAITH MINISTRIES.

In Part 4 of the series, "Dominion: The Missing Message"(a continuation of the "Gospel Guideposts Series"[G.G.S.]), your hosts(Pastor Matney and Bro. Derek Rich) shed some light on specific Old Testament insights concerning God’s giving of Dominion to man, such as an exemplary description given by Pharaoh(Genesis 41:40), as well as an exemplary demonstration in the case of Elijah speaking concerning the rain(First Kings 17:1). Also, the necessity of going beyond "second hand revelation" of God’s Word is emphasized; what we don't know can in fact hurt us. Lazy theology and cliche answers often expose the lack of understanding concerning the relationship between the Sovereignty of God and the Dominion given to man(as the Scriptures indicate that God Sovereignly chose to do). A strong case is made that every unfulfilled desire of God and every contrary thing to the Will of God stems from either the misuse of free will or the failure to exercise Dominion(or the disuse of Dominion). Not by external influences but by His own choice to value relationships of love and trust(better understood as the Integrity of His Word), God is voluntarily prevented from the forcible, unilateral intervention which would require Him to dominate/overthrow man’s free will or to disannul/overturn man's Dominion(further explanation of these, and other statements, will be given in future Podcasts); to do so would mean the removal of the image of God from mankind and the forfeiture of His(God's) intentions. In short, a creation in which God causally predetermined everything, at the expense of love and trust, was never His Will. In Part 3 of "Dominion: The Missing Message"(a continuation of the "Gospel Guideposts Series"[G.G.S.]), your hosts, Pastor Matney and Bro. Derek Rich explore the results of when man, who was given dominion, yielded and submitted to the tempting voice of the devil. A very tragically overlooked perspective regarding the problem of evil and suffering is also emphasized. In spite of Satan's acquired, although illegitimate, authority in the world, we can see glimpses of people throughout the Old Testament who by faith and the power of God, experienced a taste of the dominion and authority for which we(mankind, but most notably, the Born Again Believers) were created. The momentum of this series is definitely building!  "The Shield & Sword Podcast" is a Ministry of the FULL GOSPEL FAITH MINISTRIES.
